Friends to lovers. I love a good friends to lovers story. This one was okay.
Perhaps if I had read The Marshals series right before this, I might have liked it more.
These two have been friends since childhood. I loved the family but the main characters were a tad irritating.

3.5⭐️ I think I enjoyed the writing more than the actual plot of this book. SE Harmon is very clever and funny. I’ll definitely be reading more of her books.
I appreciated that this was a slightly different take on the “best friends to lovers” trope. Kelly, the tattooed nerdy college professor, has been in love with Blue, his straight NFL player best friend, since they were kids. I loved Kelly. He was funny, smart, sexy, and loyal to a fault. However, Blue comes across as an inconsiderate jerk for a good portion and I was left wondering why Kelly was so in love with him in the first place.
Heads up: There was a lot of jealousy and hooking up with other people in this book. I enjoy jealous/possessive drama in books (and it wasn’t really cheating) but I know some people don’t.

Nerd/jock - non traditional
I listened to the first two books in this series back to back.
I loved the characters, I loved the story, and I really liked everything.
Nerd/jock is a pretty well liked trope by me and I loved the less traditional take on it with this book. The characters felt authentic in their own way.
As I listened to the Audiobook version I should note that I really liked the narrators - to the extent I went in search of more books that they could read to me.
