This was on “to- read” list for such a long time, I thought I have had enough. And I was looking forward to read this. I was intrigued by the story line and especially about the bread and it’s cover. It really didn’t disappoint me for first 30% percent of the book. In fact I loved it. Her passion towards bread making and the recipes. It was just dreamy and romantic. BUT, the never ending cliche’s of drama possible with really boring characters. Boring as in not “boring” but if you read enough books, you would realise it’s the same characters, same predictable story line with lot of drama.

Not my loaf of bread. I am extremely disappointed and I am sorry I didn’t like this one.

Chick lit. Engaging enough to finish. At least I didn't want to shake some sense into her for the last 35 pages.

I liked this book a lot - but it's not for everyone. Breadmakers will enjoy the well researched information about the process of making yeast breads, including the rarely attempted pain au levain from scratch. The storyline dwells a little too realistically on the pain of divorce and troubled family relationships. It's good, but it's sad. Happy ending. Yay.

LOVE this book!

You really relate to the main character, and genuinely care about what happens to her!

I have read this a few times now and still love it and have heard others say the same.

This book was so hard to get through. The first half of the book (seriously about 100 pages) is boring and nothing really happens. Wyn (short for Wynter, which is her middle name) is dealing with a failed marriage. And she mopes. And acts selfish and self-centered. That doesn't change for the entire book. She is not a likeable character. She's not strong, she doesn't really do anything to make her stand out. Was I supposed to feel sorry for her? Was I supposed to be rooting for her to find love again and find a better life? Because I really didn't care what happened to her. And by the time I reached the end of the book I realized I had known what would happen all along.

I finished the book only because I kept hoping it would get better and it never did. It didn't help that I never learned French and there is a lot of French used in this book so some things just went right over my head. But I also didn't care enough to translate it.

What a horrible, horrible book! I didn't realize it was a chick lit book until I received it in the mail and it was really bad. The conversation was bad, the plot sucked, and the cutesy phrases used were a waste. So many brand names were mentioned that it was distracting and the characters were so poorly developed. The main character was pathetic and shallow, and she did things without proper reason or explanation. A total waste of time and I just want to destroy all copies of this book!
