Learned a few new things-
Trust is an economic driver, the #1 competency, and CAN BE LEARNED
informative fast-paced

Book lost me when it claimed the reason rioters in LA didn't touch McDonald's is because McDonald's supported the community. Classic causation fallacy. Fwiw, I love the covey family, but this book isn't worth it.

The message this book brings is outstanding! Covey identifies and discusses four core elements of trust -- integrity, intent, capabilities, and results. In some sense, he has simply redefined trust from what others have said about it. While I don't necessarily disagree, it is to some extent a matter of semantics. From that discussion of the core of trust, though, he moves into a very useful and relevant discussion and justification of 13 behaviors that create or sustain trust. Moving on, Covey takes us through his ideas of the third, fourth, and fifth waves of "stakeholder trust -- organizational trust, market trust, and societal trust.

All in all, I think there are a goodly number of worthwhile discussions and points made in the book. Its worth reading it and thingking about it, and pausing from time to time to read and think even more deeply. Even better, take the training offered by CoveyLink...it brings the material in the book to life.

Nice idea, however it was poorly written. The book is very repetitive.

The advice given in this book is a little too broad and general for me.

I picked this book up because I wanted to do research on marketing. This book did have what I was looking for: like why good relationships are essential to a growing platform. What I didn't expect was the practical advice on how to build, restore and encourage trust in others in all kinds of relationships. The biggest takeaway I have from this book is the understanding now that mistrust is reciprocal and contagious. Uh boy. Who would have thought that a business book would change the way I look at marriage and parenting. I've got work to do now and it has nothing to do with marketing. Highly recommended.

Not much new in this book. Read it as a job requirement - can't recommend it beyond some pretty basic ideas that, if you're like me, you've integrated a long time ago.

Great principles on leadership. The book Probably could have been half the size though.
