THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT revolves around the three main characters, Imogen, Daniella, and Rinn. Imogen's the ~wild~ girl, Daniella is the cool girl that secretly writes poetry, and Rinn is a popular booktuber. They're all very different from each other and that point is a bit overemphasized in the book.

The book opens with one of the bookstore workers, Eli realizing that the bookstore might shut down. The rest of the book takes course over the remaining day.

Honestly, my main concern is that this book is incredibly similar to Empire Records (the movie!). I say this because the book itself is actually really good if you ignore the fact it's exactly like the movie. The three girls are not fans of each other but on this day, they bond as they realize the store is closing because of corporate greed and they have to figure out how to save it before the day ends.

Imogen's girlfriend has just broken up with her, Daniella is not having a good day when she finds out the shop is closing, followed by a creepy author trying to make moves on her. Rinn is doing her best to stay positive despite all of this crashing down around her.

Overall, a really good book that I read in a record amount of time because it kept me on my feet the whole time.

Overall, the characters aren't given the space that the setting of this book needed.

I received an ecopy of this book via Netgalley; however, my opinions are my own.

I should have DNF'd this as soon as I realized it was an absolute rip off of Empire Records, but I had to see just how much of a rip off it was.  How gross.  There was not one original thought here.  Someone already did all the work for her and frankly, did it better.

Three teens of color working for a local indie bookseller discover the shop is about to go out of business. Told from three points of view over the course of one day, the three are determined to find a way to save the shop (of course). Naturally, there's romantic feelings and quirky bookstore customers involved, plus a dose of poetry. While it follows the usual romcom tropes, the bookstore premise and diverse characters give it a fresh narrative (even if the BIPOC references feel a bit forced at times). A thoroughly fun read with a satisfying ending.

*I received a free egalley of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*

a friend found this book & shared it with the group chat, and after some avoidance (entirely because i was in a reading slump), i finally decided to pick it up for real.
the story was complex, confusing, and detailed… in all of the best ways. i felt like i was inside of each characters head and felt the rush they were feeling on their journey to save Wild Nights.
would for sure recommend this in a text-based-medium as the amount of characters and timelines can get… confusing.
there are some pretty dark topics mentioned, so, as always, check tw/cw and put yourself first.

This book was objectively great, it just didn't quite hit the spot for me. I think I found it a bit stilted at times. Although I enjoyed getting to know the characters, there wasn't always much difference between their voices.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an early copy!

This was a really fun and sweet story. I love stories with a short setting, and this book was set over the course of one workday. The cast of characters was really fleshed out and diverse.

A boy finds out his beloved workplace, an indie bookstore, is due to close, and in trying to fix it, he makes it worse really fast. So begins a day filled with spilled secrets and frantic plans between the two boys that work there, but especially between the three girls. This book is beautifully girl-centered. Angry girls, hurting girls, perfect-but-not-perfect girls. Each of the three girls go through character development from different starting points so I think there will be many readers who relate to at least one of them.

There were just a time or two where the social awareness felt a little forced, but for the most part this book’s lessons are taught naturally and flowed well with the plot.

This book had that movie-like feel where almost every scene was outlandish and things went way left instead of going right. But it was fun to follow and had lots of humor and heart.

Content warnings for depression and suicidal thoughts and on-page sexual harassment.

Have I watched the film that this book is based off? no. So I mean I wasn’t disappointed in the same way other reviewers might have been. If you want a light, easy going contemporary read about people trying to save a bookstore they work in well this is for you. I enjoyed it, I thought it was cute. It probably could have been more and the relationships more developed but it was likeable.
