I think this book can be summarized in half the number of pages. It was informative but some info were redundant
This is exactly what I am looking for in a science-based book and I don’t think I will ever look at sleep the same way again.
This book is a must-read for anyone who wants to live a good life. It is a demanding read, not because it’s a difficult one but because it is littered with gems—I often found myself re-reading chapters to cement them into memory and to build new routines. This book inspired me immensely that I’ve had numerous discussions about it with family, friends and colleagues. Never have I experienced a book like this!

There are three reasons for my review - One, based on the high reviews, I started off with more knowledge than the average reader.. which is terrifying. The information was basic for me. Two, there was a lot of fluff and scare tactics that could have been removed. So much time wasted. Three, the book was fear mongering to talk about the worst case scenarios. I’d like to know more lower level impacts, which was lightly touched upon. Not cases of death, lol.
As someone who has struggled with sleep for over a decade, I was initially nervous and apprehensive about reading this book. I thought I knew the reasons behind my lack of slumber and did not need to read an entire book about the importance of it. However that view was proved wrong - this book is a joy to read, providing interesting pieces of information about everything related to sleep, and since beginning it, I have actually slept better, and stopped calling myself an insomniac- as the book has helped me realise that there are probably other reasons not directly related to an inability to sleep that are behind my awakened state. Would recommend to anyone trying to get over their phobia of sleep, kill it with the evidence.

Finally a book that made me feel good about my habits (sleeping a lot).
