“You will always be my number one. Everything else will come after that.”

When you find a new book that hits all your points..this was it!
The tension...
The spice...
All the feels...
It was all so good in this and written so good that I didn't want to put this book down.

I was pulled in from the beginning and had the "oh no" moment cause I knew it was coming.
The heartbreak and pain from Riley was palpable and jumped off the page to me, maybe because teenage love can hurt like that. It also lingers and festers and most times not in a good way.

Riley & Cam were so toxic in the beginning towards each other that it completely built their story for me. That thin line between hate & love is as thin as thread as they say and these two toed it constantly until it finally broke.

Childhood crushes or teenage loves never really go away really. They are always there and Riley & Cam are a perfect example of that. I could honestly tell you my two right now since I still remember.
If you are looking for a Friends to lovers to enemies to lovers again this is the book for you. I can't wait to see what the other books have in store and whose story comes next.

I'm such a sucker for enemies to lovers, second chances are not really my thing because of all the heartbreak and baggage....but alas...here we are... me loving this book.

It had its faults, mostly due to the miscommunication and (usually Cameron) pissing me off in the beginning, a lot. But still, the rest of the story melted my heart.
Hayden Hall is quickly becoming a favorite of mine and I cannot wait to dig into the rest of his books.

Story of Cameron and Riley

This is a second chance college hockey romance, featuring Cameron Martinez and Riley Brook. This is the first book in the Arctic Titans of Northwood U series.

Cameron and Riley were each other’s first, but when it came time to go to college, Cameron decides to leave Riley and attend a college across the country, breaking Riley’s heart. Three years later, Cameron turns up to Riley’s college and joins his hockey team. Tensions run high as they try to ignore each other.

I loved it when their feelings started to reignite, their walls started coming down and finally they reconnected. Things got spicy once they decided to stop ignoring the heat between them. Love a good second chance HEA. I’m looking forward to reading the next book.

Tropes include:
MM romance
Second change
College Hockey
Angst / emotional
Team mates
Impact play
Locker room shenanigans

I think I was just not in the mood when I read this. Might re-read to check

“It’s you, then everything else.”

“But you, Riley, are what makes my life worth living. Everything else is just details.”

“I fucking loved this man more than I loved life.”

“You’re going to be mine until the end of time,Riley.”

“He was mine and I was his. It was written that way in the stars.”

“I saw him. The first and last love of my life.”

I fucking loved this book. It was an incredible book to start the series <3

DNF'd. Writing a review like this is always tough because I admire the effort and commitment that goes into writing a book.

The story started strong, with a great setup with a lot of promise. As it progressed that momentum stalled. The writing style felt inconsistent, shifting to overly formal language at times when it didn’t fit the tone or context.

While Cameron was a well developed as a character, Riley felt underwhelming - lacking depth and often reduced to whining without contributing meaningfully to the plot.

I wanted to love this, but it just didn’t work for me in the end.

The writing was not great but the narrator did not help. The characters did not go through much growth and we were told a lot of things but never saw them. The growth wasn't really there.

Hmm.. honestly idk. I’m definitely going to keep reading this series because I’m curious. Felt like there was a lot of potential, I definitely liked the characters and the plot. But the execution didn’t hit the spot.
