Drop everything and read this book right now.

When I tell you I never thought this book would put me through the emotional whiplash it did but I was proven wrong. Every single aspect of this book was perfect and I don’t have a single thing to complain about. IN FACT I’ve officially rated it as my second favourite book

Well thank God I managed to finish this book, it's really not my cup of tea. If you've read haunting adaline and thought it couldn't get any worse? THINK AGAIN.

Honestly the plot could have been good and it could have been a very interesting read but there were a lot of things done wrong. Including the usage of kink in the sex scenes, honestly if you want a character to have a safeword, but to blatantly ignore it when they use it is just wrong...
anyway, if you read this and still think this book is for you, go for it! But if you have any doubts after reading this, do yourself a favor and if you want to read about about a spicy priest, go read the book Priest and skip this one.

Well I’ll never look at a church or a cross the same way again

DID NOT FINISH: 68%

The author clearly wanted to write a Mafia romance but couldn’t figure out the forbidden love part because why is a priest kidnapping and flaying a member of his congregation? And if you’re going to involve kink do it responsibly. Don’t have the (much older) male protagonist insist on the female lead having a safe word just to blatantly ignore it in the next page

Okay, so I started reading this book as a fun spicy read but I was in for a surprise.

Overall, the book was ok. It had the potential to be fantastic based on the plot line but some scenes were cut too short and the small time jumps (days or hours) made it too choppy; pieces of the story were missing. Eden’s character also read as very immature which threw me off since she went through some very tough situations that usually age someone pretty fast. Love me some, Father Roman Briar though.

Pros:
  • Roman using the pet name “Angel” & his filthy mouth
  • Their possessives over each other.
  • They both get to heal and grow together in their own way and their faith is restored.

Cons:
  • How is he blatantly invading her space in public (coffee shop and fair) and no one notices or catches on based on their demeanor. It’s like they’re living in an invisible bubble.
  • Insta-lust - it was out of place

It’s still better than Priest so it gives me hope for the books with a priest MMC. I will definitely read another book by this author - I have my eye on Teacher’s Pet.
