There was no chance I wasn't going to read book 2, since the first book ended on a cliffhanger, but book 2 had a lot of filler. This could have easily all been one book. After getting thru the wedding, maybe even the pregnancy, the rest was a rushed and unneeded. Big "eh" in my book.

description

"Every day, I wonder what you're doing, who you're talking to, who you're smiling at, and I want it to be me."

Mr. President was one of my favorite reads of 2016 and I was pretty excited when I found out it wasn't a stand-alone. Some stories you just can't fit in to one book. Commander in Chief was a great book and it reminded me why I loved Matt and Charlotte so much in the first book. Matt was perfect, there was nothing he could've done to top anything he did in this book. I fell hard for him in Mr. President and in this book that feeling just got stronger. He is definitely one of my all time favorite book boyfriends. Charlotte was her strong, sweet and independent self and was such a great support to Matt. They were always honest with each other and didn't hide their feelings, that was what I found the most beautiful about their love.

The author did an amazing job with this book. She took us on a beautiful journey of Matt and Charlotte's love and showed us how their love evolved. These two are one of my favorite characters, that are also such a perfect couple. They always kept each other in mind and never hurt one another. Their love was so pure and amazing and I was swooning throughout the whole book. I especially enjoyed reading the love making between the two. Matt is so passionate and dirty, just the way I like my men. The main reason why I didn't give this book 5 stars is because of the second half of the book, which in my opinion felt like a very long epilogue that showed us snapshots of their life together. I love a little bit of drama in my books or something that tests the love of the couple, just to bring some action into the story. But overall this book was a beautiful conclusion to Matt & Charlotte's perfect love.

This book was absolutely unnecessary. It felt like after reading the first 100 pages or so, it was just one long ass epilogue of how happy they are together. They should have just taken that first chunk out of this book and added it on to first one to make it a longer standalone. I was so bored throughout but I wanted to see if anything would happen. For this series to be focused on secretly dating the future president and getting together officially after the swearing in, there was zero drama and nothing happened. It definitely felt like the author was trying to make these tense moments of whether they would get caught or not and how much of a big deal it would be but there was just nothing. Rather disappointed with this whole thing since I love the premise.

Giving this 3 stars (same as Mr. President). I liked the first book better as it happened in a smaller timeframe. I gotta say, I felt that Matthews abrupt change in course was annoying because I wish he had shown his change rather than pulling a 180. I also didn't like their surprise and how it went down
Spoilerthe c-section and birth in general, and how ready she was to get back up on the horse was not believable. Also she just so easily became a mom who was just a little bit tired. eye roll. I just didn't think it should be in there at all if it would be so meh.
I didn't like the time hops or how small the conflict resolution was that carried over with Matthew and his father from the first book.

They are a cute couple, but I just wasn't feeling the direction of this book is all...

this book was just okay I don't think I like this environment that is set in politics I don't think I like this close to real but totally fake scene I just have a hard time picturing myself in the story and I like to do that when I read books and I just don't really like politicians I can't stand it I hate politics and to have this be so fluffy and have this characters so perfect and sacrificing herself for him and I don't know it just it's not doing it for me tons of sex scenes very surprised by the sex scenes especially in consideration to how prim and proper she is I don't know I thought there'd be some more drama and there to some more action but it really was quite lame there is a third book supposed to be coming out and I think she should just stop at number two

Commander in Chief is a wonderful ending to Charlotte and Matt's story.

I had been patiently waiting for this book & it was totally worth the wait.

Author Katy Evans gives us the fast pace world of politics filled with love story that is well developed and memorable.

Yes Charlotte was a character that I had to adjust to because her strong independent self was frustrating at times. I wanted her to give in to Matt, and when she did, it made me happy to see her happy with him. To be the FIrst Lady at his side and become her own.

And Matt, who doesn't love a strong man in charge? We all want that strong driven man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. He proves even more in this book that he loves Charlotte and he has made the right decision having her by his side.

Their growth in the love for each other in this book had me swooning. I love that this book had a great way of showing how their love gradually grew without drawing it out.

A Perfect ending to this strong loving couple!
