Started as a class read aloud for my fifth graders. Finished on my own after the school year ended. A sweet read for students transitioning to middle school soon.

I loved this book!! I saw a lot of myself in Tally and found her to be very relatable. I found myself getting frustrated at her family and friends whilst also understanding why they react the way they do. Tally and Rupert’s friendship was so adorable and melted my heart. I felt the bullying wasn’t really properly addressed and it frustrated me that Luke said if he knew she was autistic he wouldn’t have bullied her instead of realising you shouldn’t bully anyone. But overall I really liked the book!!

I was diagnosed as with autism as an adult. This book definitely made me reflect on my school years and is one of the best representations of autism I have read. Love the added element of the dog.

3 Stars.

I read this book after it was recommended to me after my own recent autism diagnosis.

It’s a very accessible and light read, particularly as it incorporates real diary entries from one of the authors, so there was an extra Avenue for reader accessibility.

Every autistic persons experiences are individual to them, as this book explores. Some things resonated with me, other’s didn’t. But, that did not deter from the overall reading of this book.

This book is amazing. I loved it. I read it in one sitting and I loved every minute of reading it. I felt seen, Tally is like me, I'm like Tally and seeing a character that would've helped younger me so much being portrayed in a book, was something I didn't think I would ever see. I didn't even realise how much I wanted a book like this as a younger kid until now. This is one of my favourite books.

I'm not sure what to say about this book honestly. I didn't really relate to the main character, and I think I was a little too old to be able to get it.

Tally is the main character of this series, and she is autistic with a PDA profile. She masks a lot when she's at school, and then everything comes out and those traits all come out when she's at home with her family.

I considered not reading the second book in this series, because I just wasn't enjoying it or connecting with the characters, but I sorta feel like I have to now.
