Review haiku:

Fears that torment us,
Ghosts whispering in the dark.
The unquiet mind.

Absolutely beautiful and heart breaking. Not to compare it to the show, but Fall of the House of Usher really screwed up the emotional weight of this one.

No review simply because I have trouble reading old english. I think I know what was said in this poem but I’m also not entirely sure. Would love to be able to dissect it if I had it physically.

My Youtube chat about my love of Poe can be found here: https://youtu.be/UuggFRQIBOU (available from 13th July 2021)

Love, loss, fright... nevermore. A classic to be sure, beautifully written and chilling too. A claustraphobic atmosphere with a menacing Raven above the bust of pallas above your chamber door...

I adore this piece of writing from Poe - it flows, it's eerie, gothic and tragic. I don't really like poetry, but this piece of work is between poetry and a short story all wrapped up in beautiful prose.
