If you’re not someone who can appreciate dry humor I wouldn’t attempt this graphic novel. That being said, this is a retelling of Kafkas The Castle The Trial. I absolutely loved this. You can’t help but feel bad for the MC as he goes from book shop to book shop attempting to promote his book, when no one shows up to the signings. Any of them, if not one or two people. He wrongly gets accused of murder (multiple times) but luckily at the end is set free as it’s been proven he didn’t kill anyone. His reactions to each accusation is met with complete confusion and when he is set free, he tells the police “I know who did it!” And they don’t want to hear it. They call him a thief for “stealing another mans work” and are upset when he’s signed his own books for the guards when they aren’t of that much value because he ✨isn’t the killer✨

I just loved this. This was hilarious. The attention to detail in each strip was

Very reminiscent of Kafka's The Trial.

Fun, offbeat book. The protagonist and the art are both charming, and it's interesting to see how everything unfolds as things go wrong and wronger for the protagonist.

A bit boring for a comic about a potential murderer in bookstores. It dragged a bit and I felt bad for the main character. The illustrations were good, I was just left without a real understanding of the moral.

This was ODD. I was liking that at first even though my anxiety increased as this poor author on a book tour keeps getting into horrible situations and just letting it happen. In the end it felt pointless to me and I don't even really know how exactly it ended?! The art style was neat , but I didn't love the story over all.

WHAT?! WHAT?! You son of a bitch!! What kind of rating can you give a book like this?? So masterfully done, but at the same time so very unsettling. The pace is spectacular, I read it in an hour and could not fathom the idea of putting it down until it was done, mostly because I couldn't bear the thought of leaving the dreadful feeling it conjures sitting without resolution... And then the ending hits and WTF?!
I'm not sure if it's a genius book idea or a wonderful torture device.

I enjoyed this story full of slow building tension, but would have loved more answers. Perhaps the lack of them was the point, though.
