3.75 Another classic trope filled romance but I had a fun time listening. I think this series actually got better with each book. I liked that each epilogue gives a general update that includes the couples from the previous books.

This book was not what I had in mind. I got my copy off of NetGalley and finished it in a day. I think it was a cute story that many will love, but I just can’t personally get into the friends-to-lovers trope. It is perfect for those who love friends-to-lovers tho. I would recommend it as a quick read. It had so much potential to do more. Their friendship was cute, but there is a miscommunication trope at 75% that seemed pointless to me. It gave me the same vibes as “People We Meet on Vacation” by Emily Henry. I also rated that a 3/5 stars for reference. I gave this book a 3/5 stars because it wasn’t terrible, but it also wasn’t an amazing and life altering read.

The characters feel much younger than their actual ages. Still a cute story, though I liked the previous books in this series more.

OMG I could not put this book down (well aside from when I had to sleep or work). I literally loved it. I was interested the whole time and I feel like there was never a point where I got bored or wanted to give up.

As someone who deals with anxiety, it's always nice to connect with a character because they deal with the same issues you do. Lizzy was that character for me. She deals with anxiety when it comes to her job and trying to make her family proud which are things I definitely understand.
I loved Jack. He was so sweet and caring towards Lizzy and wanted the best for her. He feared disappointing those close to him and was unhappy which I am sure we all have felt at some point. He learned to stop doubting himself and that he needed to live his life for himself.
I loved Jack and Lizzy's friendship. Their banter and the angst was to die for. They are literally so perfect for each other. They both needed to discover who they were and I feel like they really did that.

Highly recommend to any romance lovers!
Tropes: friends-to-lovers, slow burn, small town romance.

This is an adorable Rom-com about Lizzy, a burnt-out lawyer taking a much-needed three week vacation in her best friend Jack's hometown of Weldon, California. Jack has had a serious crush on Lizzy for two decades, unbeknownst to Lizzy, and he vows to use her visit as a way to get over her. Meanwhile Lizzy volunteers at a cozy independent bookstore as a way to keep herself busy as she realizes that she may have romantic feelings for Jack! Throw in some mouth-watering descriptions of Korean food and I really enjoyed this book!

in hindsight, i probably shouldn’t have started this. i’ve never been a fan of the author’s writing style: it’s always come off very juvenile to me, and her characters always seem so.. immature/absurd and 1-dimensional. i was so hoping this book would be an outlier to that- but [spoiler alert] it wasn’t.

If you are looking for a light summery fun friends to lovers book, this book is for you. The book overall was adorable, and I loved the messages shown throughout the novel. I just felt like something was missing for me. I was not too fond that Lizzy didn't respect Jack's request to take things slow. I also thought it was frustrating that the book was based on the two main characters' miscommunication. I would recommend this book, although I don't think I would reread it.
