Some of the characters didn't seem that realistic.

What a goofy book to end my reading slump

Cute and different. The dialogue felt more like awkward real life conversations than literary dialogue. She would often go off on random tangents or elaborate on strange details. There are a lot of full recipes of weird food and one whole chapter is the actual New York law on becoming unsuspended from practicing law. The story between Jane and Perry was great and felt more real than a typical romance book. But with everyone else, Jane is extremely judgmental and horrible at understanding others’ motivations. Especially with Mandy. And as angry as she is for her old coworkers to abandon her, she sure has no problem abandoning her friends made during her confinement.

2.5 ⭐️ rounded up — this really fell flat for me :/
funny lighthearted mysterious fast-paced

Sadly, this one wasn’t for me. I felt like there was too much going on but also nothing going on. I can tell the author had a lot of great ideas but instead of choosing a few they wrote them all. The only problem with that is it means the ideas weren’t exactly flushed out and it will give the reader whiplash not knowing which direction the story is taking. The main character wasn’t my favorite either which made me struggle to connect with the story. The humor wasn’t for me either. Overall, even though I struggled to get through this one you might love it. So I say give it a try and let me know what you think!

Thank you so much for the gifted copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Quick read. Felt like there was something missing from the story line, however.

Delightful, snarky, humorous and sweet!

I loved this unique story line of a lawyer who was sentenced to home confinement when a nosy neighbor called the police on her for doing naked things on the roof. The sister storyline was so sweet. The romance was understated, but sweet. The hijinks the characters were able to get into despite home confinement were funny. The writing style was different for me, but it’s hard to explain why. It took a little getting used to. The end made me smile!

This was hard to get through. I was drawn to the description but there were too many story lines… leaving the main story line with not enough romance and oomf. Had higher hopes for this one and kinda disappointed.
