This was my first book by Anna Zaires. It's the first book in the Wall Street Titans Series. Emma & Marcus met through a random case of mistaken identity. Marcus, a self made billionaire, quickly became obsessed Emma, a quirky cat lady who works at a book store. They are an unlikely duo but it works! This book ends in a cliffhanger so be prepared to start book 2 right away! Sebastian York & Ava Erickson do an a great job voicing Marcus & Emma.
Just a heads up - this book ends in a serious cliffhanger so you should buy both at the same time. I didn't know this sadly, which I found really annoying.
The story itself is good - I did feel a bit too much 50 shades though in terms of he is a billionaire, she loves books, he likes books, he buys her books, he buys her gifts, she is into editing/publishing, he runs his own company (nothing new here ofc) - what I am saying is that I did find too many similarities than I liked. And that is coming from someone who did actually enjoy 50 shades. Ofc there is no red room of pain and Marcus is nothing like 'Fifty'. I don't know which book came first, and the trope is nothing new of course.
Despite this, I enjoyed the book but what pulls back the 5 stars is that it ends in a stupid cliffhanger - though! As much as cliffhangers go - this one is very soft but again I can't help compare it to Ana leaving in the elevator at the end of 50 shades...I know I know...stop comparing!!! But you get the gist.
The sex is very good, the story build-up is good. It has fun moments - but it has one thing that I don't particularly like and I just tend to find annoying, which is stubbornness and constant insecurity which makes decision making absolutely stupid. And it just keeps going on through the book really. Granted Emma has history from her childhood which is one of the causes for her particular ways, and as adorable as her insecurities can be in some cases - I did feel like I just wanted her to "get over it" and actually give him a chance...
What saves it on 4* is that I did enjoy the book despite all this and the author has made me really want to find out how it goes. I really am cheering for Marcus (who acted like an ass...what is new) and I WANT her to not give up on him and I WANT him to pursue her.
So even though I do have some issues, the book is well written, it flows well and I found myself laughing many times. They are really good together and I want them to have 10 babies as soon as possible you know? ;)

Wall Street Titan is hot, intense and unexpected in the best ways. Marcus and Emma's characters are strong willed and together make for an explosive dynamic. I really like how Emma is smart and knows her worth and how the seemingly always in control Marcus is undone by her. I devoured this book and cannot wait for Marcus and Emma's story to continue in Titan's Addiction.
I loved this first book in the Wall Street Titan duet.
So this was the 4th book I picked up in 1 day because I was by myself at work and because I recently resubscribed to Audible Escape. Didn't finish it before I went home but I almost did because I did not want to stop listening.
The narrators were great. I've heard them on multiple other books.
Going into this, I didn't realize it was a duet/series BUT at about 75% in, there were too many issues for this to be resolved in a satisfying manner, if this was only one book. Thankfully it wasn't and the story and couple continues in Titan's Addiction.
Be aware going into this that Marcus is a bit of stalker...I don't mind that in my books but some may have an issue there.
Emma is in her mid-20's (I think 26), a free-lance editor and full time book store employee and alos becoming a cat lady and her friend pleads with her to get out there or try a dating app. So Emma breaks down and tries one. She agrees to a date with a guy name Mark and meet him.
Now Marcus is ready to settle down, so he tries a matchmaker to help him find the perfect wife. The matchmaker sends him the stats for a woman named Emmaline, she ticks all of his boxes, so they agree to meet.
In a twisted turn of events, both Emma and Marcus meet at a cafe/restaurant and it becomes painfully obvious that neither are who they thought they were meeting. They were both meeting someone else but had a mix up because Emma was meeting Mark, Marcus was meeting Emmaline.
Marcus was instantly attracted but knew Emma was the wrong woman for him and everything he didn't want in a partner but he can't help but want her. And he gets a "gift", Emma accidentally left her phone in the booth and now he has an excuse to see her again. Thus begins their amazing and fun romance.
I really appreciated that Emma was very stubborn, when it came to paying for things. This will annoy me in the second book but in this one I liked it. She wants to make sure she pays her way because she never wants to be like her mother who constantly used people.
Meanwhile Marcus is making that difficult for her because he's constantly trying to (and does) give her gifts and wanting to pay for things for her.
The drama near the end, I loved, I just wanted to see what Marcus would do and how he would make it up to Emma. And
I just loved this book. So much. It will eventually be joining my physical book shelves. Immediately after finishing this, I downloaded the next book from Audible Escape and finished that book in one day.

Spoiler
when Emma turned him down at the airport and told him that she wouldn't be with him anymore I was rooting for her but at the same time hurting for Marcus and I could not wait to see how he fixed things and how he would get her back.I just loved this book. I really enjoyed this book on audiobook. Both narrators were excellent and brought the story to life. These 2 unlikely lovers meeting on sheer happenstance was both enjoyable and led us on a merry journey that ultimately left us wondering .. what is next. I can't wait to dive into the second half of the story.
