WOW! Mona & Abram <3 ALL THE FEELS!!! From the very beginning I was facinated by Mona. I wanted to know her and understand her. She may be one of my favorite characters Penny has created.

It tickled me that her and her twin's names together are Mona Lisa. It makes my art history nerd heart giggle. Another giggle happened when I realized Penny snuck in a joke at her own expense in the bookstore scene. I will let you find it for yourself. It is super cute!

I loved the slow build of the story. I knew a cliffhanger was coming, so I think that helped me deal with the ending. I eagly want to know what happens but I am okay with how it ended for now. Also knowing the sequal is just around the corner helps. It's worth diving into right now and not waiting to read this book! It is as delicious as chocolate cake donuts. Abram and Mona are worth it!!!

This was so good! It's a new adult novel about Mona trading places with her sister Lisa, to protect her identical twin. In the process, Mona falls for Abram, but she can't act on her attraction because Abram believes that she is Lisa. This is a quirky, character driven plot that ends on a cliffhanger. No HEA. At least, not yet. I'm supremely curious about the other two books in this series.

Fantastic book!!! I loved every second of this. The characters have such depth to them, the story is layer upon layer of goodness. The Pace of the story is perfect and everything you could want in a book. I enjoyed this tremendously. I love Penny Reid's humor and her quirky sometimes odd heroines. It just what the book nerd in my craves. This story was so great I wish all books I read were this amazing. Told in the first person.

PSA. Don't read Penny Reid's books. Because you will become addicted. Once you've started, you won't be able to stop. She will worm her way into your heart with her clever writing and charming characters. She will become an automatic read author, and you will find yourself suffering through months of waiting for her next book. She ruins all other books for you. You will experience book hangovers that you feel you will never recover from. She will make you fall in love with every word she writes and YOU WILL NEVER BE THE SAME. Just a warning.

That being said, I'm already addicted and I couldn't wait to leap into another story from Penny. I was younger then...so full of hope. It was all going so well. And then it ended.

So, I'll just be in the corner, going through the motions (abahahahaha*sob*ahaha), living but not alive, until we get the next one. Send help. Penny, you did this.

Man I adore smart romance. Mona Lisa s a genius. She’s had an unconventional life. College at 15. Alienation from her siblings. Parents whose open relationship is terribly confusing when she learns about it at age 8. Not being valued in her profession because she is young and female. I adored her odd sense of humor and her desire to protect her sister.
Abram. I mean he’s Marie’s brother and I love Marie. He’s smart and talented and funny. He has such a romantic heart and soul. That poetry. I mean damn.
They are in an untenable situation. She has a lot of info he doesn’t and she can’t tell him. He is not prepared for Mona because he thinks she’s Lisa. It’s a train wreck waiting to happen.
So good and now in to book two.

Every time I pick up a Penny Reid book, I know I'm in for a unique story with interesting characters and great banter. This book was everything I expected and more. The banter, the slow-burn romance, the twin swap, the cliffhanger.... Every bit of this book was fantastic! What a great start to this series and I can't wait to see where this story goes!
