No words to describe how much I loved reading two different times and the in between. How one strong women made another women in a different time find herself. The story of Sophie during such hard times was so touching. I you actually feel the story through its all ups and down.

Non so, avrei evitato.

I absolutely loved this book except for one thing: Liv Halston. I couldn’t STAND her whiny, “but it’s myyyy painting” nonsense. Even with the way it ended, her failure to see why the painting was not rightfully hers truly went against everything in my soul.
That being said, Sophie’s story was so captivating, and I found myself wondering what happened to many of the characters from her part of the tale. I adored Paul, and found the book romantic and touching, but man—I just can’t get over how honestly terrible Liv was.

Easy read with a fun albeit dark and emotional story line that all comes together in the end. This is the first and maybe only Moyes book I will read. Wasn’t super engaged but was entertaining enough.

⭐3.5⭐
It was quite hard for me to get through this book especially on the REALLY long narration throughout the story. I think that the story was a nice idea though and reading about WWI was really interesting as I haven't read many books referring to it.
I think that the way the two stories connected was really imaginative and the use of two different perspectives kept me going because I wanted to find out more.
I felt like I was waiting for something to happen the whole time and the the writer was building up the story to end up, at one point, to something predictable.
Except that and some other minor things it was a quite enjoyable read and I really liked the way Sophie's story ended leaving me wanting some more but that wasn't enough for me to give it more stars.
