The book was amazing and i honestly really liked it but the only let down was the ending dragged on.
The plot twists and plot in general kept me on my toes.
Overall, really enjoyed this book and never read anything similar so thanks to the author i read something new.

I think the title of this book does it a huge disservice, and it honestly almost turned me off from reading it. I loved these characters, and the story wasn’t as predictable as many others I’ve read in this genre. There was more than just the normal romance drama, but also some mystery as well.

3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️A great angst filled hockey romance!
First off, I’m going to lead this review by saying I enjoyed reading this book, however there were many things in this story that felt unrealistic. Let’s call them plot holes. Minor, but still there. If you can ignore them, then it’s a fun read!
Loved our MMC. I’m a sucker for misunderstood, broody book men. I did like the MFC as well, but as with many books I was often frustrated when she wouldn’t speak up for herself. It felt like a lot of conflict could have been avoided by better communication and by her even just occasionally choosing to have a backbone and speak up/ fight harder to defend her position. Considering we often don’t in real life, I’ll forgive her for it :) The plot moved well, albeit a little all over the place, and narration through audible was well-done. I’m going to go ahead and thank Odette for introducing me to the phrase “dropped trou”, which I apparently missed out on and definitely gave me a chuckle every time it was used.
TW do include sexual assault, domestic abuse and violence with a weapon.

I can’t, this book is a mess
Their feelings for each other make no sense, the drama keeps happening without letting the characters actually grow and assimilate what is happening, the author throws shit in just for the sake of it, I didn’t liked none of the characters because we couldn’t see enough of ANY of them to actually make them feel real, sexual assault shows up just in a way of making the plot and more drama.

This is a book in desperate need of an editor. What is "reprehensible damage", for instance?I think it was supposed to be irreparable. Dialogue frequently consisted of characters saying a single word or maybe two to each other for a good portion of the conversation.
The narrator did not read with any emotion other than what felt like anxiety. The dialogue was woefully stilted and awkward.
You know when something is so bad you just can't look away? Yeah. That's this book. With a heavy edit and would probably end up being a moderate rewrite, it could be good. But right now it is not.
