Couldn't put this down from start to finish, and the ending shook me! I loved reading this, would recommend to anyone who loves being gripped from chapter to chaptwr!
I raced through this novel in one sitting. This Harlan Coben standalone thriller features a former special ops pilot who recently witness the fatal shooting of her husband. Maya's final mission was just a few months ago and she still has nightmares. Now a single parent, she hires a nanny on the recommendation of her mother-in-law but is convinced by a friend to install a hidden nanny cam, for peace of mind. When the camera captures images of what looks like her deceased husband visiting their daughter, Maya flips out. What's going on here? Maya moves her daughter to daycare and launches a private investigation that leads a twisty path through the recent past and pits her against her husband's family. Fast-paced, intricate plotting, dramatic story-telling, and a resolution you hope would never happen in real life. Coben delivers a dark, twisted tale of secrets, lies, and murder.

I have become a big fan of Harlan Coben's since I read his last few books, The Stranger, Missing you, and Six Years. Needless to say I was really looking forward to this books release and then my turn on the reserve list at my library.
The premise of this book was really interesting. Maya has suffered the loss of her husband who was murdered in front of her. Trying to be more careful and know what is going on in her home she puts up a Nanny Cam to make sure her daughter is being treated well. When reviewing the video one night she sees her husband come into the room and play with their daughter. Considering she didn't get the camera until after he died this raises a lot of questions.
There is a good deal of suspense and twists and turns but I felt this one didn't live up to his previous books. This was enjoyable but I didn't care for the ending. The ending wasn't what I was expecting but not the twist I had hoped for. I'm getting a head of myself. The story itself has some predictability to it and I was hoping for more twists and suspense. When it came to the ending I didn't care for how it ended and I wanted more from it.
This book is really hard to talk about without possibly spoiling this. I just came off of a book that had the same kind of premise as this one. The other book had a better plot to it so I think that is part of the reason behind my not caring for this as much as I had hoped I would. Maybe it was the wrong time for this book but I still give this one 3 out of 5 stars.

It was entertaining. Kept me guessing for most of the book. I didn't completely guess the end. It's a good, quick read.
This book starts off with Maya, who’s burying her husband. She’s now left with a 2 year old and has had to quit her job as a military officer. Oh yes, her husband was murdered! Her best friend Eileen gives her a nanny cam, however Joe, her DEAD husband is on the camera!
This is classic Harlan Coben. So many twists and turns and no holding back. If you’ve read his books before you’ll always recognise the twists! I was hooked with this book. I instantly fell in love with Maya and was like her co detective.
There’s been so much hype with the tv series that’s been made based off this book. I wanted to read the book first, and now am so excited to watch the series!
You’ll love this book if you love twists and taking matters into their own hands. I love detective novels like this and Harlan’s one of the best! The ending shocked me, I didn’t expect it to happen. I also didn’t expect to cry at the end of the book either, which I did! Definitely check this book out. It’s amazing!

Direct, full circle suspense
I thought I had the story pegged a few chapters in. Happy tp have been wrong! The twist was not the most surprising I've seen this author pull off, but it was poetic and well done. The ending made me smile while giving closure to the story and characters.

This was just ok for me. The twist was maybe not as expected as I thought. But hated how it ended for Maya. So like 4 stars for the twist, 2 for what happened at the end. I found the plot being drawn out and pointless at times. I might try a different Coben novel before I decide it’s not for me.
Another fine page turner! Stayed up late to finish it as I could not put this book down! And the twists! Amazing! I was completely taken by surprise with the ending! Great book!!!
