This was interesting though some examples of “real people” made me cringe… maybe I’m a pessimist, but some of them felt like hack frauds (lol). Anyway I knew most of what was talked about in this book so I really didn’t learn much, but it was a nice experience nonetheless.

I’m tired of this grandpa

A very comprehensive look at trauma and mental health, and all the ways society/politics/history/etc. influence a person’s mental and emotional wellbeing.

The author used a soft and approachable tone throughout the book, and that made reading feel like more of a conversation than a lecture. I appreciate that essence of coziness in a non-fiction book.

There were components that were maybe slightly redundant, but not in a way that distracted or diminished. I would recommend this highly.

This is a great book to understand what ails our society and approaches to fix it. Will be something I will go back and reference. Somewhat heavy, but still hopeful and inspiring to work through your sh*t.

A very enlightening and depressing read. I’ve never had so much existential dread while reading a book. It touched on how the structure of our society makes it hard for us to be hormonally balanced, healthy, and happy. It certainly explained a lot and it did give me some guidance for how I want to live my life and how I want to raise children. It was not a fun, light, read, but I would recommend it to everyone. Very important stuff.
