I got books number 1, 2, and 4 in this series at a conference at some point. I was getting ready to give them to the library without reading them, thinking they didn't sound that interesting. For some reason, I decided to page through the beginning and end of them all. Except that somewhere in book 4, I got totally hooked and ended up reading the whole thing that night. So I went back to the beginning and read them all in order, getting the ones I didn't have from the library. Almost literally, I read one a night, and couldn't wait for the next one! Then I went back and reread my favorite parts from each book.
There is plenty of teen angst and lots more typos than I'd expect in non-ARC books, but they also has an interesting story and a likeable, strong protagonist and great secondary characters. Plus action, both short and long-term mysteries, and romance.
In this book, Sabine Rose, after being driven out of her last school because of her psychic abilities, has been sent to live with her grandmother, Nona, also a psychic, and attend a new school. Determined to fit in and be "normal", she doesn't tell anyone about her abilities. She makes friends with the popular crowd, works for the school newspaper, and begins dating Josh, one of the cutest, nicest, and most popular guys at school. But she has a vision about the death of a classmate and can't ignore it but still tries to help her classmate without revealing her special abilities. Along the way, she learns to trust some of her friends, gains an enemy, and struggles with issues of identity, family, responsibility, and of course, tries to avoid a murderer.

I really wanted to like this book, but I just didn't. The premise was interesting and the characters were loveable, but the writing was just too self-concious and clunky. Maybe her later novels will be better.

I got this as a freebie on Amazon several years ago. It was both interesting and kind of annoying. I wanted to know more about the main character, but I really didn't GAF about her love interest. While I get that this is the first book in a series, the cliffhanger just ended up pissing me off more than making me want to read more books in the series.

C'est une bonne histoire, mais c'est vraiment un livre jeunesse pour ne remettre dedans ! Je me demande si je continue ou pas..

This book is about a girl who has visions of people in danger. This seemed similar to other books I have read that have to do with psychics and whatnot, but the book had it's own mythology. I read through this one pretty quick and I got to the end & the cliffhanger definitely left me wanting more. I loved that the story kept me guessing about what was really going on & who was involved. The MC Sabine is likable & has her issues. Manny is a fun character to read. Penny-Love (Sabine's BFF) isn't really all that interesting & I like Thorn more, probably because she is more mysterious character & can relate to Sabine. Nona, Sabine's grandma, is a fun character as well & I am excited to learn more about her. Josh was an okay character for me, he is very sweet even if his best friend is a bit of a psycho. The thing that bothered me about Josh is that he didn't even notice Sabine until she saved his life & there is nothing mysterious about Josh. Dominic on the other hand seems very mysterious & I definitely want to learn more about him, plus I think that he & Sabine would make a great couple (even if she claims to hate him). There were some great events in the book & more mysteries that need to be solved. I definitely want to read the next book.

Series started out okay, interesting idea, but I soon found myself just skimming books 4 and 5 so I could be done with it already.
Some seriously lazy editing, lots of typos and missing prepositions, lots of telling (the same things over and over in the same book) without showing, things hinted at but not answered, and some rather shallowly developed characters and unconvincing relationships.

Plot: This book bored me at first, unfortunately. However once I dug into it, I couldn't stop reading! The plot twists and turns all the way until the abrupt ending which leaves you dying for the next book.
Characters: Sabine is a good main character, who has both virtues and flaws alike. She has strong friends as well, and learns to connect with them to help her with her troubles.
Setting: Her house is sporadic, like herself, which adds to her unique ability. Also the school is a strong setting for the crime she investigates.
Overall: I would definitely read this book if you get the chance! I am hoping to get my hands on the next one asap :)
