This book was so good!!! It exceeded my expectations... I thought it's gonna be a dirty book when I saw the cover. But in fact, it was such a lovely story, I enjoyed each page.
Favorite quotes:
“She reaches for the cake, dips her finger in the frosting, and brings it to her mouth, licking it off. Oh God. Oh hell. Why does she torture me like this? Thank fuck I’m sitting down. She does not need to know she is one half of the ingredients in my instant hard-on mix these days—just add an unintentional sexy-vixen comment that I don’t know how to read, and it’s like a pop-up shop.”
“Any doctor would tell you the only path to recovery is to take a full dose of medicine. In my case, that’s her. Maybe I’ll take several doses, just to be safe.”
“Just like that, I’m hypnotized. I’m under her spell, a cartoon character with glassy eyes, following the piece of steak he finds at the end of a string.”
“I want to look into someone’s eyes and feel like he knows me, gets me, understands me. I want him to see my quirks and accept them, not try to change them. I want to know what that’s like.”
“Why doesn’t anyone ever mention how hard it is to bare your heart? It’s like peeling off a layer of skin.”

So good love that's it's from the male pov. Lauren Blakely has done it again. I'm in love with nick hammer.
Well this book was utterly charming book. While a standalone, we get to see the leads from Big Rock make some cameos, which were well placed.
What I liked:
- The banter. If a book doesn't have the banter and makes me laugh out loud on several occasions, it usually doesn't get more than a 3-star review. This banter was exceptional. You have two someone dorky leads, who nerd out on all sorts of things, and you could really see the connection.
- Nick. This is one of the better written male leads I've read in a long time. He's got depth. I like that he's neither a saint nor a manwhore. I like that he isn't someone who has to be "tamed," and acknowledges that he doesn't know everything and doesn't always know how to read Harper.
- The relationship evolution. The relationship progressed in a very natural way to me. There was little angst and drama, which in this case was a good thing.
What I didn't like:
- The "teach me" trope. While I liked Harper, I am SO TIRED of the "I'm in my mid-twenties, but am so inexperienced that I need a more experienced man to show me everything about relationships/sex" trope. Listen, I'm sure women like this exist. In fact, I know they do. But it's just a little tired in contemporary romance these days. This wasn't totally overplayed, but it was present enough to take away from the book for me.
Bottom line:
This was a good one and I didn't have many complaints. And what's more, the universe continues with THREE additional books from these lovely group of characters. I'll be pre-ordering each and every one.

This was a really good read. The hero Nick is a gorgeous and talented (both in and out of the bedroom) nerd. He’s also a talented artist. Harper is a smart and sassy heroine who is a talented magician. The two have one major thing in common, neither does well at the language of love, or at least they don’t believe they do.
This is a brother’s best friend trope – one of my favourites – and I’m so glad that the story included the couple from the first book, while only a cameo it was still awesome. It was good to see the relationship between the male characters. This book is set purely in the hero’s perspective, which is fun to see.
I listened to this book and very much enjoy Sebastian York as a narrator.
I highly recommend this book, especially if you like the brother’s best friend trop.

I have to say that I love every single book that Lauren Blakely has written and that includes Mister O. Mister O is a feel good friends-to-lovers romance that had me swooning! This book is told from Nick Hammer’s point of view which I find absolutely sexy! Nick Hammer and Harper Holiday were brought to our attention in Big Rock and I knew right then their story would not be one to miss!
Nick Hammer, former ex-nerd, is Mister O who has made himself a success as the creator of the animated show, The Adventures of Mister Orgasm. He is funny, gorgeous and comfortable in his own skin which is why his best friend's sister, Harper, asks him to help her learn how to be comfortable around men. The compatibility between the two is off the charts and you almost can’t believe they don’t see it for themselves. Or do they?
Harper is Spencer Holiday’s sister, which means she is off limits since Spencer is Nick’s best friend. She is a bit awkward and that is what seems to draw Nick to her. She is a magician and able to pull of a front of being more confident than she really is.
Nick asks Harper to help him be his “wing-woman” at his company party and in turn owes her one. That turns into Nick helping Harper learn how to date, although it is killing him to think of her with other men. Needless to say, they both succumb to their desires for each other and it gets REALLY hot. The sex in this book….WHOA. From the role playing to the sexting to Nick’s fantasies about Harper, it was way beyond HOT. It will definitely give you some ideas ;)
Nick and Harper’s love story is simply wonderful. This is a book that you will read straight through. It is definitely a fun, dirty and heart-warming read. I cannot wait for the next book!

Ok, so the covers and titles of this series are corny as hell, so I refrained at first from putting them on my goodreads lists. However, the old adage. As I read more and more romance I keep coming back to this series for refreshing, sweet, funny, heart felt stories that are also very hot. Especially this book, my favorite in the series. There’s no fluff here, and that’s a good thing. The characters and story are simple but feel true. There’s a feeling of not taking everything super seriously, which is very refreshing. Sometimes the descriptions and talk around the characters’ work in the series feels dubious and weird, but I do appreciate there is an acknowledgment of other aspirations besides love. The characters also feel super privileged and uncomplicated in that way (white, nyc, nice apartments, successful) but I guess it’s supposed to be a 'fantasy'. The thing I love is how economically the story is told, and the balance of both sweetness and heat. But I also love FtL stories, which this book does a great job at. Highly recommend.
This series is seriously amazing. I have a feeling when I read it again it will become 5 stars for me. Nick and Harper were...HOT. Such a fun, quirky, sweet, amazing love story!
