This was difficult for me to rate- I waited quite a while to get this book from the library and I really enjoyed the story. But the narration was…. Not good. Would strongly suggest a physical copy

I love the way Nellie describes her characters and makes them come to life. Every single person in this book felt like they could be a real, three dimensional character.
Dr. Andersson was hot and clueless and thoughtful and I’m a little obsessed with him. Emmy was so perfectly depicted and her anxiety was dealt with in such a raw but delicate way.
Loved it! On to Educated now!

Not quite what I was expecting, but there were some really excellent smutty scenes! The way the story handles sex and anxiety is especially good.

I fluctuated between giving this book 4 or 5 stars. After finishing it, I've landed on 5.
I really enjoyed this book, and not just because of the spice (4/5 spicy rating, for those who are curious.) And also not just because I myself am a huge history nerd (BA in history). Emmy was so relatable as a character, for a plethora of reasons. Ryan was a cutie patootie who reminded me a lot of my husband, especially with how much he loved seeing Emmy get excited about her passions.
The writing itself was witty and funny, making it easy to get through. The plot was great. I love forced proximity and enemies to coworkers to lovers. If I hadn't started this book during the holiday season and then proceeded to get sick, I would have finished this book much sooner, I suspect.
If you're looking for a cute read about two nerds falling in love, look no further. This book was great, from start to finish!
Thank you to the author for an advanced copy of this novel.

I could not stand the FMC. her “woe is me” and “I hate men” mentality was completely taking away from the development of the story and made it unenjoyable

Yeah no. Just no. I was so excited about this book when I heard about it, but this just did not work. I could not stand any of the main characters and didn’t root for their relationship at all (it also just felt like they had no chemistry whatsoever). The book tries to cover really important topics and societal issues but it does it really poorly and on the nose. I‘m pretty disappointed :/
