Narrated by David Brenin shares Maiara and Alexander’s romance. The story begins life times ago with a prologue. Maiara and her father are being chased by a wendigo. Then bounces around from 1699 to 2018. When we meet Alexander, he is a recluse artist who still mourns his mate and wants to end his life. His only companion is his mate’s bird.

I loved their story from her roots to how they met and were separated. I immediately felt Alexander’s pain as the author tugged at my heartstrings.

When the siblings arrive on the scene, they are unwelcome, and we get some history there too. Alexander is crushed to learn his siblings are mated. He reluctantly listens, but it is Gabriel’s mate, the witch who reaches him when she thinks she can bring Maiara back.

The story is told through various points of view and multiple timelines. We learn more about how the siblings arrived on Earth and established themselves. It was fascinating and my heart bleed for Alexander and Maiara. Their romance was not without struggles and I rooted for them.

As trouble finds them, the threats continue. The storyline is tight and well executed. Each story brings depth and a deeper understanding of Paragon and this family. We get updates and interact with the other couples, making it essential that you listen to this series in the order of its release. Matings and the overall story arc will be spoiled otherwise.

All the audiobooks have different narrators and this story is narrated by David Brenin. He captured Alexander and his emotions wonderfully. He did an equally good job with the other characters, both male and female. His tone, pacing and inflections made listening a pleasure.

Fans of dragons, siblings and fated mates will want to devour this series. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer

I really enjoyed Alexander and Maiara's story. It moved me to tears and made me laugh. I liked the author's method of interweaving the different time periods. It made me feel like I was living the past alongside them. I very much look forward to the next book in the series.

Exciting, intriguing, steamy and suspenseful

I really enjoyed Maiara and Alexander’s fated mates romantic suspense tale with a side of death and magic. It was well written with witty dialogue, three dimensional characters and a fairly engaging plot line. The flow of this book was different than the others in the series, at least in the beginning. It started out as a series of scenes centuries apart, switching back and forth from the present day to when Maiara first met Alexander more than 300 years ago. I was not a fan of this type of pacing, it disrupted the story flow for me. I would have preferred the backstory in a large chunk. The flow was wonderful once the story was mostly in one timeline. Alexander is an artist and a dragon shifter hiding here from Paragon, another realm. Alexander found his fated mate, Maiara, 300 years ago but after she died, he has been barely living. Now that he is reunited with some of his siblings, there is a chance to get Maiara back. The book includes one of the evil actors from previous books along with the siblings and mates we’ve previously met. It’s an epic fantasy with all the suspense and swoons coupled with all the feels. The story includes what you’d expect from this genre - fighting, fated mates, steamy encounters, sweet moments, dangerous situations, paranormal creatures, evil masterminds, henchmen, loyal friends and family, tragic back stories, mystical coincidences, snark, political intrigue, plot twists, and laughs. While this book could be read as a stand alone, to get the most enjoyment out of the overarching story arc in the series, it’s best to read the books in order as the MCs from the previous books play a large role each story and each book ends with unresolved issues. I am excited to read the next book in the series.

Another great story in the series, this time with Maiara and Alexander's story. She is a mysterious woman, Alexander has lost someone. I just absolutely love this series, every character, every story, Genevieve Jack has taken my love for Dragon shifters to a new level. A must read, I suggest you read them all!

I loved everything about this story. The flashbacks to Alexander and Maiara’s love story were heart warming and so, so heartbreaking. Raven performed phenomenal feats of magic and Maiara had her own spectacular moments. And then there was the breathtaking tension around Aborella and her attempts to take our heroes to Paragon. I can’t wait to read more about the rest of the dragon siblings. And on a side note, I cannot end this review without saying that Nick is awesome. This is the series for you if you like dragons, magic, and soulmates.

I'm 100% new to Genevive Jack, and being dropped into the fourth book into a seriers is probably not ideal. But let me tell you, this did not hinder my reqding experiance at all!

Told from multiple main and previous characters point of view this story captured my interest. The story line itself was one of the best executed of that nature I have ever read.

While set in present day, this story jumps back and forth from 1699 to 2018. It followed effortlessly. Which was probably no easy feat to make happen.

My heart broke for Alexander. And soared when things started going in his favour. Going though his journey could not have been easy at all.

Genevieve Jack has woven a tale that you can sink your teeth into. I didn't feel as though I couldn't keep up seeing as I hadn't read books 1-3 but I also felt that to fully understand, the other books are a must.

2.5 stars. It was kinda boring, and the fact that most of the story is told in flashbacks was bothersome for me. It kept pausing the story to go back to the present and that broke the pace. Not much happens and the "plot twist" was super predictable. I liked Alex, though, I kept imagining him like Klaus from The Umbrella Academy, LOL.
