To say I adored Steele and Lilah would be a huge understatement because these two just captivated me from the start. They have been best friends since college and over the years Steels has learned to live in the friend zone even if it’s killing him, but he never lets his feelings deter him from being the constant in Lilah’s life. Lilah has seemed to be the only one oblivious to Steele’s feelings and attraction, I think it’s because the fear of never having him in her life at all kept her blinders on all these years, but once she’s in a place to truly see it does she realize the connection they have is so much more. This was such a sweet and oh so hot (Steele has a mouth on him), that I absolutely devoured it in no time at all.
This is the first book in the Chicago Railers series and wow, just wow.
Lilah is devastated when she walks in on her boyfriend cheating on her. But she also loses her job and place to live. Of course her best friend is there to pick up the pieces.
Steele has been in love with Lilah for 10 years so of course he offers to let her stay with him and gives her a job as his assistant.
I loved how they were together and it isn't long before she starts to have feelings for him but she's afraid they will loses their friendship if they have more.
Can Steele convince her that she's everything to him.
More than a few ups and downs but also a great friendship that becomes so much more.
A must read. Can't wait for the next book.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

This was my first book by this author, and it is the first book in a new series. I enjoyed the characters, and the narrators did an excellent job portraying them. Some parts I didn't care for, but I understand why they were in the story. I was hoping for more of a backlash for the cheater (like Steele having a "talk" with him or something). I also just can't get behind her own mother acting that way. I am looking forward to the other character's stories though (mainly Evelyn's and Callie's). Overall, I would recommend this book

“Sweet, swoony, and slow-burn perfection!”
Make Me Yours completely stole my heart! Jennifer Sucevic delivers a delicious friends-to-lovers romance that’s equal parts emotional, steamy, and heartwarming. Steele Sanderson? Obsessed. He’s the golden retriever hero we all dream about—fiercely loyal, quietly protective, and oh-so-patient with Lilah.
Watching Lilah rebuild herself after heartbreak was empowering, and the chemistry between her and Steele practically sizzled off the page. Their shared history made every flirty glance and lingering moment hit even harder. Add in forced proximity, a friends-with-benefits situation that totally spirals into something deeper, and a soft but possessive hero? I was hooked.
The slow burn was delicious torture in the best way, and when things finally ignited—WOW. Emotional payoff, top tier. I laughed, I swooned, I reread my favorite scenes immediately.
This one is for anyone who loves:

He fell first and years ago. She’s scripted her whole to make her family proud. Then it all comes crumbling down.
I enjoyed the writing, the story and the female friends group relationship.
However, I was disappointed that the big drama wasn’t really resolved and just brushed over.

Make Me Yours is a full-length, friends-to-lovers, off-limits pro hockey romance that delivers the swoon. 💥
Steele has been in love with his best friend for years—but timing never worked in his favor… until now.
When she catches her boyfriend cheating, Steele doesn’t hesitate to offer her a place to stay. But under his roof, he’s hoping she ends up in his bed too. 👀
He’s a total cinnamon roll—sweet, protective, always there for her—but with a surprisingly dominant side that’ll leave you melting. 😮💨🔥
Book 1 in the Chicago Railers series (can be read as a standalone!)
🎧 Narrated in duet by Vanessa Edwin & Christian Fox—and yes, the performance is chef’s kiss.
Also… that bonus epilogue? OBSESSED. I need more now.

I absolutely love a good dual audiobook narration, and Vanessa Edwin and Christian Fox truly excelled in this one. The tension and chemistry between them practically leapt off the pages. It’s impressive how their friendship lasted so long without anything happening, but it just goes to show that some of the best relationships start as friendships. This was my first experience with Jennifer Sucevic's work, and I was completely captivated from start to finish. The slow burn was not only enjoyable but also incredibly engaging. I wasn’t at all ready for it to end!
“𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒆𝒍𝒆, 𝒎𝒚 𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒆𝒍𝒆. 𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒚𝒆𝒕 𝒎𝒚 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔𝒏’𝒕 𝒔𝒆𝒆𝒎 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆. 𝑵𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒔 𝒑𝒖𝒍𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒎𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒂 𝒍𝒐𝒘, 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒚 𝒓𝒉𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒎 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒐𝒓𝒆. 𝑰𝒕 𝒄𝒐𝒊𝒍𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒎𝒚 𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒚, 𝒂 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒃 𝒐𝒇 𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔 𝒊𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒐𝒄𝒖𝒔.”
I don’t typically endorse cheating in stories, but when Lilah catches her boyfriend in the act, I couldn’t be happier for her to be free from that man. With nowhere else to turn, Lilah moves in with her best friend, Steele, and suddenly, she starts seeing him in a completely new light. There’s always been a spark between them, but she’s been too afraid to pursue it—worried that she might lose her best friend. That all changes when Steele presents her with an intriguing arrangement that she can’t refuse.
“𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒇 𝑰 𝒑𝒖𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒐𝒐 𝒇𝒂𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕? 𝑶𝒓 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒇 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒇𝒇 𝒂𝒔 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒔? 𝑰𝒇 𝑰 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒎𝒚 𝒃𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆, 𝒊𝒕'𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒕 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍𝒔 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑰’𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒐𝒖𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒓.”
Steele is a professional hockey player who has been in love with his best friend since their college days. Timing has always been a challenge, but he’s waited patiently, and he knows that good things are worth the wait. When Lilah finds herself with nowhere to go, he steps up and offers her a place to stay in his home. The way he cares for her is incredible—he knows her coffee order by heart and brings it to her in bed. It’s impossible not to fall head over heels for him. He embodies what it means to be a true golden retriever. Now that he finally has his chance, he’s determined to show her that he’s the one, even if it means breaking her for any other man. 🥵
“𝑰 𝒄𝒂𝒏’𝒕 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒑 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒆𝒍𝒆, 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒕 𝒎𝒆 𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕, 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒅 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒎𝒂𝒅𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒊𝒎, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝑰 𝒇𝒆𝒍𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒕 𝒎𝒆, 𝒔𝒆𝒆𝒏, 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅, 𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒅.”
I'm looking forward to reading more of Jennifer Sucevic's books. This book struck the perfect balance of plot and spice. I would rate the audiobook a solid 5-stars and the overall read a strong 4-stars.

This hockey romance got me out of my mini reading slump. This book is a perfect example why I love best friends to lovers. It's so good! The close relationship between Steele and Lilah means everything especially when it feels like Lilah's world is falling apart. Steele had me swooning rather quickly, but his surprise gift for Lilah sealed his fate as prime book boyfriend material. That would have been a sure fire way to win my heart! It's a bumpy road, but there is no denying the deep connection between them. I so enjoyed watching these two fall. They may have the chemistry that burns up the sheets, but they are also so adorable. Steele sees and does the little things. Plus Lilah sees the man behind the hockey fame. Really great book and kick off to a new series. I'm already eager for the next book! I love Steele's teammates! They are like a brotherhood.
