A fast read that I think suffers from very poor copyediting. None of the characters are likeable throughout the majority of the book. It's still a fun read!

I worried this was going to be a disappointing read because of the hype on Amazon, but it was far from it. I was totally engaged and I like that the writing is enough to set the scene and develop characters but leaves space for the reader to add to it with their own imaginings. If you like revenge tropes in thrillers you may like this one - not saying anything more! The complexities of abusive relationships and how the abused can become abusers in some way or feel entitled to treat others a certain way is really well presented without justifying abuse, victim blaming, or going too far.

The whole romance bit really took me by surprise and it almost made dnf cus I am so not here for it. I did guess the plot twist correctly at some point, but that didn't spoil the book for me. The build up was nicely done, the unravelling of secrets and Millie's as well as Nina's past had the right pace, it also didn't feel as if it came out of nowhere - everything made sense at the end.
