Kind of disappointing. The build-up to Ryan's story was awesome and I felt a bit let down. Still a good book though.

My second favourite in the series. A bit instalove, but expected with fated mates.

I love this book. It was nice to hear about Ryan. I love that he has a mate that is tough for him.

ARC received from the publisher via NetGalley for exchange with my honest review.

I'm so attached with this wolf shifter series because it is fierce, HOT and entertaining. Each book in this series is worth the wait. Among all the male characters in Phoenix Pact, Ryan 'The Enforcer' is the most mysterious person. Although he already make appearance since the first book, Ryan is the silent type that intimidate with his serial killer eyes and patent grunts.

At first, I'm a bit worried that this book will be full of 'silence language' without interesting banter because Ryan's character. But Suzanne give Makenna who is independent, protective and looks calm with unique streak (For the first time, the record to be the most hated woman by Greta surpassed Taryn.)

This book is looking stronger than the previous (Marcus and Nick). The main problem in the story is more focused with the shelter for lone shifter (and raised the conflict that we can meet in the real world). Ryan is more realist person and Makenna who gives a different vibe with her unique taste succeed to bring new taste of romance. Their interaction was hot, intense and touching. Their conflict with mating bond was still fresh and never never discussed in previous books.

Of course, the other characters made appearance will entertain you with this friendliness from Phoenix Pact. Spoiler alert! This pack has some new members. Who are they? Read and find it by yourself.

My star : 3.8/5
Bikini : 3.5/5

We go further into the overall shifter world with this book and I was thrilled about it!! Do I love the compound with the Phoenix pack? Yes of course! But do I love seeing how things work outside of the compound? Absofreakinglutely!

Makenna is a badass with a bleeding heart. She is selfless, determined to connect lone shifters with their families or new packs so they don’t have to suffer the loneliness and feeling of being incomplete like she has. Of course then we have Ryan, the emotionally closed off, tortured soul that has a soft side for kids and for … you guessed it, Makenna. They’re extreme opposites when it comes to faith in fate and belief in superstition, but Makenna can decode his grunts and huffs and they have an instant, undeniable connection even if she is uncertain — Ryan *knows*. He just needs to convince her.

The villain for this story is the perfect love to hate kind of sinister evil and the plot is another “hang on to your hats” kind of rollercoaster of suspense and emotion. The pack dynamics, the shelter dynamics, and the evil hijinks really made this one hard to put down. And like all the others, the steamy scenes are incomparable to other books.
