This book pleasantly surprised me! I'll definitely be trying her other works. (Yes, I read the series out of order, but Sense and Second-Degree Murder was all that was available.)

I will say the romance felt a little lackluster, but the mystery was the center of the plot, so I'm not complaining. Thoroughly enjoyed the several plot twists!

I found Marianne annoying for most of the book, but to be fair I find her almost as annoying in the original. Like the first book, this is much closer to a remix than a retelling, but I liked the way the story turned out. Although for whatever reason, the decision to rename the Ferrars to the Farrows for no discernable reason really distracted me - all of the other characters retain their original names and I spent an inordinate amount of time with my brain stuck in that. Which is super nitpicky, I realize.

Thank you, NetGalley, Tirzah Price and HarperTeen for the chance to read this eARC in exchange for my honest opinions.

This novel continues the reimagining mystery series after Pride and Premeditation. It was a fun, cozy and charming whodunnit that captured the essence of the Dashwood sisters. In this YA story, the sisters must work together to investigate the death of their father, all while trying to adapt to a new life outside of high society. The author appropriately gives each of the sisters their own skillset based on the interests they had in the original book, but examines them in more of a progressive light. Each of their skills contributes to the case and the bonding that is intricate to their success. I would recommend this retelling to all that love mysteries, tales of sisterhood and Jane Austen.

Another amazing book by Tirzah Price! I actually liked this one more than the first!

The relationship between the Dashwood family was so lovely to read. No matter how different they are, you can still feel the love coming through the pages.

I didn't know which way this mystery was going to take me, and I found myself suspicious when a familiar character was introduced. The way the whole mystery was woven together was genius and brought the perfect level of excitement!

If you haven't read any of this series yet, I don't know what you're waiting for. Head out now and buy it!

A fun book! I did think it could be a little shorter, which is why I gave it 4.5 instead of 5, but it was fun and sweet!
