Serena who is a hunter breaks the rules of a hunting competition for a good reason and then has to marry a snake like creature. Romance was similar to the previous one, a lot of communicating and being kind to one another. There is also dancing. It was fine.

Well, apparently I have a thing for snake men, too. Who knew? This is quickly becoming a new favorite alien romance series.

These are always fun.

This book was light and fun. It wasn’t quite as good as the first book in the series however, it was still a nice comfortable read for someone who enjoys marriage of convenience stories combined with alien romance.

I... quite liked this? I didn’t like the first one much, so I’m pleasantly surprised! I think it helped a little that the main characters have a bit more agency in this one than the first book.

I thought the snake-alien culture was fun to learn about and I liked how they made accommodations for the human heroine. Serena was strong without being obstinate and Szaro was thoughtful and understanding. It was nice to read a romance where the main characters actually communicate with one another. I liked that they bonded over their love of protecting the land.

The writing style still didn’t quite work for me — it was a little disjointed and could do with a good round of editing. But I enjoyed the story!

The illustrations were certainly... interesting. I can safely say that I don’t think you’ll enjoy this if you hate snakes.
