It was disturbing. The writing was terrible but that is the least of this book's problems. There is a romaticization of rape, torure both physical and emotional. How can someone write this and get published is beyond me. I quit this book on the scene of the wedding night... It was a rape, plain and simple.
It was a bad read from the start but the more you read the worse it gets. The main character is abused by everyone in the book, her mother first and when she meets her captor/love intrest it only gets worse. It's a neverending spiral of violence.

Yeah so I had to power through this book just to say I finished it because I don't like to DNF. Honestly I would have given this book 3-4 stars if the rape scene didn't happen. The author labels the TW as non-consent but honestly why beat around the bush with that. It was very uncomfortable. Def an 18+ book and you really need to be into that kind of kink.
first i’d like to say this book was recommended to me by a friend who absolutely loved it and gave me all the warnings beforehand. now i know all about greek mythology and the rape that happens there but still their wedding night was… so much. i get it’s a dark romance story but still rape is a lot. and yes there was warnings for it but still i personally cannot see hades doing… 90% of the things she did persephone in this. the author was a great writer but again like i said about the rape. there were a few redeeming moments where persephone took control fit herself. i also was not a fan of how abusive demeter was. that was very extreme

This story didn't live up to its potential for me. I was intrigued by the idea of a lesbian Hades and Persephone story, but the character development and the relationships fell flat.
