This is disappointing because the original author didn't finish it (she passed away). There's nothing that could be done about that, of course, but it doesn't hold a candle to Cold Sassy Tree.

I will remember reading this book!

I was most fascinated reading about how Olive Ann was going to put the book together. The part that ended up being published was nowhere close to what she hoped to make it. The book was supposed to be about Sanna, not Will. I just wonder what she was going to do to get there?

This is a book every hopeful writer should read. It explains how to organize a book and make it say what you want it to say. If only Olive Ann would have had time to do it.

And besides all that, she really seemed like an amazing woman.

This unfinished sequel to Cold Sassy Tree was a huge letdown. I would have been happier without this ending that seemed to foriegn to the original story. I didnt have the satisfaction of finding out what happpened to favourite characters from the first book because many new characters are introduced and unfortunately before much can be resolved the author passed away.

I liked it. It's a shame that it wasn't finished before the author passed away. :/

I started reading this book and then read some reviews stating that it wasn't a full story so I was not surprised when the story came to an abrupt end.  I appreciate all the author's notes and ideas that were included, although admittedly I did not read them all.  I wasn't interested if there was no conclusion to the story.  The "memorial" section of the book was nice but again, not something I was looking to read.  I am left wondering why a ghostwriter didn't finish the story.  Maybe that was against the author's wishes.  I have to admit, this is the first time I've ever picked up an incomplete book and I'm left wondering why it was published.

I think I cried through most of this book. Despite being a serious reader I had never even registered that Cold Sassy Tree existed until seeing it at the bookstore a few weeks ago. Read it. Loved it. Wanted more. So hubby picked this sequel-of-sorts for me and it's a perception changer...well, I knew this perspective was in me, but now it's working it's way out. The story continuance is what I went in for, but the author's way of living is what is going to stay with me.

Half this book is the unfinished sequel (titled "Time, Dirt, and Money"), several chapters (some more polished than others) and notes on how the book will go, the other half is a biography of Ms. Burns. The biography is interesting, especially if you are a fan of the author. The unfinished sequel suffers from, obviously, not being finished. Some stories are fine when they're not polished, as the plot will carry them along. Ones that depend on the characters don't do as well. If Ms. Burns had lived to finish it, I think it would have been an enjoyable read. As it is, it's more of a curiosity.

This book was a serious letdown. I liked the part that Olive Ann Burns wrote, but the way that whoever finished it wrote it was absolutely horrible.
