I have mix feelings about this book. i liked it in some parts but really disliked in some others.

What I liked:

The last half of the book. It was really interesting everything that happened in the moon and I wanted to know what would happen with the main characters. All the atmosphere of the unknown problems out there and how everyone was freaking out was actually good, but unfortunately I have to say that that was all I liked.

What I disliked:

1. The characters. They were so 2 dimensional, I really didn't care about any of the characters. It didn't matter to me if they died or not.
2. The first half of the story. Everything that happened before they travel to the moon was quite boring. I would like to read something about the training of the main characters, and how their relationships develop, but that didn't happen. The only thing I knew about the training is that they had to read a few books and that's all. About their relationships I didn't know that much either. At one page they were all unknown and at the other page two of the characters were in love.
3. I was never scared. I thought the book would have some really scaring scenes but there weren't. I just felt like I needed more about the horror part of this book.

Overall it was a bit disappointing.

I'm confused and not satisfied by the presentation of this book as a sci-fi novel. It's just a horror story sets on the Moon. And actually, i find it succesful, it's scary and "un-put-downable". But just the second part. Because the first half of the book is filled with unnecessary details and quite boring. Above all, the last chapter leaves us with lots of questions which should be explained by the author. If you had extra time, then you could consider reading this book.

This is now one of my favorite books.
I loved it from start to finish. There was so much stuff that happened. I read most of this in one sitting, and I don't do that often. It kept me on my toes the entire time. It was terrifying, scary and creepy at the same time.

This was an okayish book. I wouldn't call it horror; more of a mystery kind of thing.

I've given this books 3 stars because I liked it, but it definitely isn't one of my favorites. The three stars is for the plot of the story only. You'll see why farther down.

172 Hours on the Moon is about 3 teenagers from different parts of the world, (Norway, Japan, and Paris) who win a NASA lottery to go to the moon. Only when they arrive on the moon, they discover that everything is not what it seems, and they are far from alone.

I liked this book well enough. It had a wonderful plotline, interesting (enough) characters, and the writing was excellent. There really isn't anything that I inherantly dislike about this book, it's just an 'Eh' kind of book for me, I guess.

The Cons of this book (IMO) are as follows, and it's just a giant mass of spoilers so:

Spoiler I didn't like Mia/Antoine's relationship at all. It seemed to suddenly erupt out of nowhere and end just as quickly. Kind of like it was thrown in there hastily. Also, I sort of felt that Oleg and Simone's POV's were really unneccessary. The book would have been fine without them.

The characters... were kind of.... flat and unappealing. I didn't like any of them at all. Caitlin I just found really, really irritating. I understand that she was a minor character but
Spoiler I honestly don't think that someone would freak out and shut down and be that bipolar even in the situation she was in
I think that the information about the 'incident' took too long to actually come out, though I do like the way the author wrote those particular parts. Mia.... how do I begin to describe Mia? She was kind of snobbish, her insecurity flared at really weird times, and Despite that, she was the only character I could tolerate. Midori, didn't really say much after things started to happen (There is a reason, though) so I can't really say much about her. Antoine... was a hot French dude who
Spoiler liked Mia a lot and then died trying to save her. *Insert sighing Awwwww here*
and honestly didn't really do much for me. His pining for his ex in the beginning kind of disgusted me and also the fact that he
Spoiler would use telescopes to SPY ON HIS EX IN HER BEDROOM *STALKER MUCH, DUDE?*
was just way too much for me. *shudders*

All in all, not a terrible book, but one that I doubt I'll ever come back to. I would suggest you pick it up at the library, since finding an epub online of this book is near impossible.

not great technically speaking but fun ideas and a couple of legitimately scary moments

I can see why this had 14 year old me freaked out so badly. This is honestly just an engaging YA scifi thriller. I don’t think anyone over a certain age will be shocked or scared by any of the events happening, but I believe it’s good for the target audience. I was surprised by how grim some of the scenes were because I didn’t remember details from when I first read this 15 years ago. Despite it being clearly YA, there were some darker themes touched on, which I appreciated. It’s not life changing, but it’s a really good teen thriller.

Rating: ⭐⭐ ½
Genre: Horror + Science Fiction + Young Adult

This horror science fiction for young adults has been on my shelf for some time. A few Booktubers back then have boosted the hype around this book. The premise sounded very interesting to me, so I said why not?

The concept of the story is that three teenagers are chosen among many to win a lifetime opportunity for a trip to the moon organized by NASA worldwide. Three teenagers from Norway, Japan, and France win this opportunity and are chosen to visit Darlah 2, an abandoned base on the moon. Once they arrive, strange things start to happen. The crew soon realizes that something sinister is happening. Everybody will try to survive these horrible events.

The first thing I’m thankful for is that there is no love triangle. The romance subplot is very minimal, which is good. The idea behind the story is fantastic, which convinced me to pick up this book. Despite all that, the book suffers big time, in my opinion. There is a pace issue. While the second half was quite fast, the first half was very slow, and it took like 150 pages for the story to move on.

I expected this book to feel atmospheric, but I didn’t find the kind of atmosphere that keeps me captivated when I read stories like this one. The abrupt ending and the unanswered questions can make any reader frustrated. I was very excited for this book, having heard all the praises, but I guess the tale was not for me after all. It’s OK; at least I’m gaining an empty space by unhauling it!

I loved the writing style and the pictures. And how the characters were such realistic teenagers thinking all they're parents are so lame and embarrassing. Once it was in the 2nd part it was non stop tension and action. Would've been 4 stars but the plot twist didn't make sense when he wrote the getaway in Mia's perspective. Only to further add events that didn't happen (while in her head) with the logs.

It's cool that the wow signal is real. ~spooky~
