Really interesting overview of how sunlight affects human minds and bodies. Includes a history of the sun in (mostly Western) science and medicine, as well as reports of more recent medical and sociological research. (And made me feel kind of validated about how I structure bedtime/outside time, too!)
Listened to this book, I really enjoyed how it is explained how the circadian system works and how that affects our lives.

My favorite section was the one about the Amish. I also found the story about the reindeer way of life very interesting. How funny that reindeer stumble around like partying teenagers after eating psychedelic mushrooms!
Really interesting read, especially right now in light of Covid19. This book also helped me realize something that I hadn't known about myself and my own sleep schedule since I always was the odd one out when it comes to sleeping times (I would usually fall asleep at 6 AM and wake at 1 PM, until I became a mom.) Really interesting read. Highly recommend!
chronobiology literally insane
wish she’d gone a bit deeper on infectious immunology related time linked outcomes but still a really interesting book of the importance of exposure to the sun (beyond just vitamin d) sleep cycle and circadian rhythms. also Love that there’s basically a chapter dedicated to ending daylight savings
highlights were explanations on myopia’s connection to sunlight and third photosensor in the eyes

I found this book very informative and interesting, It gave me great insight on why I should and how I can adapt parts of my week to increase my sun intake, especially in the early morning. Would recommend to anyone who deals with SAD, trouble sleeping, and/or those interested in learning more about our natural body rhythms!
