Wow…what an amazing book! This is the first of Coben’s books that I physically read and not just listened to. I will definitely be reading his books from now on because the suspense and thrill is something you can’t get with audio books! My gosh this was such a good book! I can’t wait to read more from him!

This novel featured fast-paced dialogue, a diverse cast of characters, and a lot of moving pieces. I think my biggest issue about this particular novel is that everything seems a bit too surface-level for me.
For example, characters are supposedly in passionate new romances or strained affairs, but no one seems to actually have any strong feelings for each other at all despite how emotional everything is supposed to be from the outside. Also, moments that are supposed to be suspenseful/frightening are bland and disappointing.
The author worked hard at leading up to these moments of intense conflict and rescue, but when the events actually happened everything was generally solved with banter and a threat. I just ended up feeling teased.
The dialogue pacing was fast and the overall story read well. While reading, I enjoyed it and wanted to keep going to find out what was happening, but the second I set it down I found myself unable to bring up any excitement about it.

This was an enjoyable read, but the characters were very underdeveloped and the low quality of the sentence structure often gave me pause. Also a lot of the plot was pretty bad - predictable and/or trite. A far cry from Tell No One.
A quick read, but not necessarily a page turner if you catch my meaning. Characters were well drawn and I enjoyed the uncovering of some mysterious elements but overall not all that satisfying.
I have no idea why this author is so popular. I gave up halfway through.
The two leads are a double-alpha plus female and a double-alpha plus male. The latter can only be a projection of the way the author sees himself. Both the the leads are arrogant, overbearing, self-righteous, and contemptuous of those they believe their inferiors: which is everyone else. Again, I can only see this as the author's personality beaming through.
The author's stylistic quirks are annoyingly repetitive. To take just one: On every second page some character is asked a question and then "Matthew said nothing".. "Wilde did not reply" "So-and-so was silent". All his characters have a pathological dislike of human interaction.
Too much testosterone in this one for me. Might appeal to a 'roid addict.

My problem with Harlen Coben is that his books develop at x1.75 the regular speed. Characters have no time to grow, conflict is so over the top it is not believable, and the plot is simple. Definitely falls in the genre of “Boomer literature.”

I’ve been wanting to read a Harlan Coben book for awhile now and I’ll definitely be reading more. This may be one of few times that I couldn’t guess who the suspect was. There’s a lot of back story and major plot points to follow between Naomi, Hester and Wilde, the Maynard’s, Eggers, etc. However, he makes them all intertwine in interesting ways and there was no point where I was bored or waiting for something to happen. Everything flowed. I’m interested to read the next book because there are still a lot of questions left to be answered
