3.5 stars, rounded up. While the last book was technically the last in the Charley Davidson series, this book picks up with Elwyn’s (aka Beep’s) story, five years after Charley’s and Reyes’s disappearance.

Garrett is still Beep’s primary protector, with Donovan and the bikers, Artemis the departed Rottweiler, and the Hellhounds as additional protectors. Beep continues to live with Reyes’ parents on sacred ground. Uncle Bob, Cookie, and Angel also make appearances, and it was nice having the gang all together (sans Charley and Reyes). Marika (the mother of Garrett’s five year old son, also plays a bit part in this installment.

There are some significant occurrences in this novella which move the plot closer to the final battle between heaven and hell, and I’m very interested in what comes next.

I received an arc for my honest opinion

This book was Absolutely amazing! Just what I needed in a story after 13th grave.
After reading 13th grave, I was needing something. Anything to give me just a little bit more. This book did not disappoint. I read it in one sitting and couldn’t put it down.
That one question we all had at the ending of 13th grave was answered!!! Yay!!! We also learn more about Beep! Eek!
But most of all this was a great book because Garett was in all the books and getting a little bit in his POV was a great addition to the series. I don’t want to give anything away but that ending!!!!!!! Omg what!!!!! I need more! I don’t think I can ever get enough of this crew!

I love this series. Charlie Davidson is one of my all time fav characters. But this book was a giant mess. All over the place. The characters were acting strangely. This whole thing with Beep was too weird. Swing and a miss for me.

Welp, this was a bit of a disappointment. I was really excited to see tiny Beep (Elwyn) interacting with the rest of the team, particularly Garrett. unfortunately, this took a much-unexpected turn, that I definitely didn’t like in regards to Elwyn’s growing up. I loved everything we were told about her, but what we saw just wasn’t what I wanted.

As for Garrett getting his happy ever after... so overdramatized. I honestly felt that we didn’t need Marika’s perspective and while I thought they were cute, the reveal of their past problems seemed so contrived. Garrett’s backstory also felt incredibly overdone. Then Marika’s final secret of why they couldn’t be together was just too freaking much, only to be canceled out.

LOVED Garrett’s story and the appearances of the rest of the cast of characters. Beep of course features prominently (loved the surprise with her) as well as Cookie, Robert, Artemis and the rest of the same crew. This gave a lot more back story for Garrett with multiple surprises along the way.

This was a great visit back with all of the characters. I WANT MORE! Unfortunately I have to wait for Amber and Quentins book next year. So I’ll have to re-read this series again!
