A fun mystery. Pamela Patterson is a widow, her daughter is in college, she's an associate editor of a craft magazine and edits articles (working from home), and belongs to a knitting club that the members call Knit and Nibble. They meet in each other's homes to knit and talk and take a bread for coffee or tea and some goodies. Pamela runs into a woman she knows that used to work with her husband's architect firm and was a big help to her when he was killed. She invites her to the knitting club meeting at her house. The woman does not arrive, but when Pamela goes out to look for the dish she fed the stray kitten out of, she finds her body in the hedge by her house. So kicks off a big why. Then another woman living in the same apartment house as the deceased is killed. Pamela finds her body, too. The police are not happy.

I picked this one up to meet a prompt for the "Pick Your Poison 2022" challenge: a book with a craft pun in the title. A quick cozy mystery, entertaining, but totally forgettable.

Pamela Paterson is busy enough as an editor of a craft magazine. Her daughter is now in college. She is also the founder of a knitting club called Knit and Knibble. This is an extra activity that is spiced up with recipes, but even more so with gossip. Pamela has invited someone new along, Amy Morgan. However, Amy doesn't show up to the next meeting. Shockingly, Pamela discovers Amy's body, killed with a knitting needle.

Just like many of the characters in several of the cozy mysteries that I enjoy reading, Pamela decides to take on the task of investigating Amy's murder, looking for whatever clues she can find. This is a cute little mystery that was a very quick read and gave me the opportunity to start the series, as I had the third book for review.

One thing that I enjoyed while reading this book is the knitting tips. I have never been a knitter, but it always nice to learn new things. A few recipes have been shared as well. I also enjoyed a couple of secondary characters, such as Pamela's neighbor and friend, Bettina, and the adorable but more than a bit anti-social cat, Catrina. Murder She Knit was a pleasant introduction to this series. The next two books, which I have read prior than writing this review, are Died in the Wool and Knit One, Die Two. The next in the series are Silent Knit, Deadly Knit, scheduled for release in October, and A Fatal Yarn, with a release date in March, 2020.

Murder, She Knit is book 1 in A Knit & Nibble Mystery series. I've really been in a cozy mystery mood lately so I've been trying out different ones. When I saw that this had a strong knitting element I had to grab it from the library. I've been knitting as a hobby for the past year so this was a nice change of pace and it had a good whodunit I couldn't guess!

Our story starts out with Pamela Paterson hosting a Knit and Nibble meeting at her house. She invited an old friend that was new to the area to the meeting but she never showed. Unfortunately for everyone the girl winds up being found murdered with a knitting needle. Pamela and her friend Bettina want to figure out who was behind this terrible act since everyone at the meeting is in question plus quite a few others so they're determined to unravel the mystery. We go on quite a journey and through several suspects while getting to know Pamela and her knitting group and it really made for an entertaining read. I am happy to report I didn't guess who the killer was, and when revealed the little clues clicked in place.

Murder, She Knit is a great start to a cozy mystery series. I enjoyed getting to know Pamela, she's a sweetie that takes care of a stray kitty and loves to knit, she's a lady after my heart. I can't wait to see what trouble occurs in the next installment. I'd recommend this book if you like cozy mystery novels and being crafty.
