been a long time favorite for me. I have read this over and over again, and despite the same plot line, same story, and same ending, it never disappoints, nor gets old. Despite being in my twenties, I still love it like I did when I was a young teen.
It's like a fairytale story that your parents read you before bed, except much more; there's darkness to it. The love triangle is interesting to explore, since it's all from the perspective of a girl who *doesn't love any of them.* Most love triangles go back and forth between the two love interests and you have to pick who you like more, who gets your vote. In this story, you don't have to pick anyone. You can dislike them both; hell, you *should* dislike them both.
The adventures our heroin goes through throughout the book are exciting; they make your heart race and your mind reel. They make you breeze through the book, desperate to see them through. And then, ultimately, you are left with the end of the book, which despite being sad, as you have completed the story, is a beautiful whirlwind, making you want to experience the story all over again.
Again, I know this story is targeted to younger audiences, but I will never stop returning to this book. When I need a fantastic journey and thrilling story, with a happy ending of course, to give me a break between all my dark, dystopia novels and psycho-thriller books, this is my go to.

This was really enjoyable! Incorporating bits and pieces of several fairy tales, I say this was a successful story. At first I thought this was children's lit, but once the Old English-style dialogue caught up to me, I'd peg this as more young adult. As a side note, the main character may be graced with incredible beauty, but she has a few flaws of her own, which was annoying but refreshing.

I remember adoring this book to pieces when I was younger, and upon re-reading it, I'm not totally sure why, so I sadly downgraded my rating on it. The language initially felt annoying to read, though after about a quarter of the way through, I got used to it and finally started to enjoy the book. Same with the MC - she annoyed me at first, but I got into her more as went. I really like that this was not a typical fairytale - probably exactly what first drew me too forever ago, as "fractured fairytales" are my absolute favorite thing - and I love that the main girl is spunky, determined, and very determined to make her own way and save herself rather than depend on rescuing, ever. And the ending is a lot of fun, with the twist at the castle with the curse and all. Overall quite fun, just not the absolute perfection I remembered.

Goose Chase lived very close to my expectations, though I felt that the beginning was slow starting and that it took some time to really get into the story, but that once you did it was funny and very imaginative.

This book was really bland. I disliked the goose girl, I disliked the Prince (who was such a dork then all dreamy...). I was really confused. They used too many Twas and Tis'. It was unromantic and the whole singing to your dead celled *hair* kinda drove me crazy! The positive points were good use of description, good summary, good explanation (in the end), and how short it was. I hope you like it.

The story here was OK, but not particularly memorable. There was too much 'tis-ing and 'twas-ing, but only inconsistently. I guess I just didn't really get it, not for the story, and not for the writing style.

Frankly I just couldn't find myself liking Alexandria very much. She was quite harsh to all around her and her irritation merely irritated me. I could summon little respect for a girl with little genuine respect herself. Otherwise it was an inventive read.

One of my all-time favorite books! I love the retelling of a classic but little told fairytale, and I always love a headstrong female protagonist, even one as stubborn as this. Clever, funny, and heartwarming, it's a joy from start to finish.
