As someone who also has severe death anxiety, this book was so relatable. The MC's parents were so infuriating and it can be so hurtful to have family completely deny your feelings and experiences. I usually don't like a flawed MC who is also potentially an unreliable narrator, but in the context of this book she just felt really real.
Really incredible story and concept, but my vitriol for the main character almost caused me to DNF multiple times.

I am giving this book 2.5 stars because I think the author really did a good job at making sure the readers see Gilda's brain and the effects of someone living with OCD. Additionally, I think the writing is good and emotional however I did not like the book.
I did not like it because of the way it made me feel, I suppose it was Emily Austin's way of having the reader understand the depth of the disorder.
I didn't like feeling stressed and sad for Gilda and just wanting to help but at the same time trying to remind myself that it is a book and the characters are fiction. I suppose the reason I felt so emotional towards Gilda's story is because I know there are others who feel the same way as her and are dealing with having OCD and depression and anxiety, and I wish I could change that.

I'm not sure what it would be like to read this book as a non-depressed person, but I fucking loved it.
