Audio June 2018: WOW what an emotional listen. Revisiting old friends, couples, and seeing the world change was spectacular. A wonderful series to read or listen too. The audio was wonderful. The narrator did a great job with all the different voices and special moments that occur in this novel.

I’ve loved the Psy-Changeling series from the very first book and I do have my favorites. I like that I can pick up any of the books and become immersed all over again.

Allegiance of Honor was cleverly done. Ms. Singh has taken threads from fourteen books and woven them together into a story that is sensational and enchanting. It’s heartwarming to read about these characters I have come to love and a little sad at times. I was on the edge of my seat and my emotions where all over the place.

We get to revisit old favorites, go deeper into the BlackSea changelings, learn more about father Xavier (loved how this was done), and get a feel for the hops and dreams of all the different races (Psy, Changeling, Humans, The Forgotten.) We also get answers to many questions.

Allegiance of Honor is the changing of the guard. While one story arc ends a new one is made to move us forward. It was all masterfully done, had my emotions in turmoil, and it’s a roller-coaster ride unlike anything previously seen in this series!

Many interesting things happens in Allegiance of Honor. It’s phenomenal, sweet, and emotional. Fans will not want to miss out.

2.5 This really doesn't have a plot, its mainly catching up with all the characters from past books.

Oh. My. God. I'm pretty sure we caught up with every single character from the Psy-Changeling series (and they are many!) in between plotty stuff happening. This was, I believe, the first book in the series which does not focus on a standalone romance, and while I sort of understand its purpose - and there was an actual plot, hurray - it mostly read as fanservice, where people we haven't seen/heard from for most of the series to date (e.g. Clay's mate, Talin) show up to do something cute and schmoopy with their beloved, and at various points the plot stalls out so that the combined forces of SnowDancer and DarkRiver, the two changeling packs which control most of California and have a serious economic and political impact on the rest of the world, can plan a party. Under no circumstances should this book be read without a thorough love for and familiarity with the rest of the series. Did I read it? Yes. Did I enjoy it? Yes. But it's essentially one giant postscript for lovers of the series.

Allegiance of Honor isn't a bad book, but I wasn't really excited by it. It's leading up to Psy-Changeling Trinity with a "Where are they now?" of almost everyone, and has a small amount of action thrown in. The action was good, and I liked reading a bit more about some of the characters, but there were so many characters, and there was so little new stuff, that it got pretty tiring.

That being said, this series is amazing and I'm excited to read the next book.

A million things happen since this book is...honestly what to call it? We jump from person to person. Every in the 14 books before have a chance to be seen and we get to see what is going on. Someone is having babies, someone is about to be kidnapped. Alliances are being cemented and there is a hunt going on for a missing sea changeling.

In a way a bunch of short stories that build a book.

Have I read all of the 15 now? Eh, no, I am missing some, 7, 8 and 11 to be precise. Ooops ;) But hey on to book 22 hopefully soon instead.

I was actually so confused by this book at first but now I realize why I could never find which pairing it was about. This book was a cute look through all the couples we've seen in the series before as a little bit of a wrapup/epilogue. I ended up enjoying it since Nalini Singhs writing has come a long way since her first book. I loved the look into my favorite couples where everyone is just mostly happy and living. There were a few plot points to give everyone something to do but I'm guessing this is a wrap for these characters for now. It'll be interesting how the story moves forward while shifting to a new base of characters.

This one is more of a filler with us getting an update on every character that we have met till date. Translation: this one is all repetition for the most part.

However, it is not all repetition. There are saving graces. The moments that bring you so many smiles.

These are:
Spoiler - Naya's first shift and how she settles into her other half
- Lucas emerging as a leader not just for changelings but for the world in general
- I loved every Kaleb and Sahara scene
- Annie finding that boy with cardinal eyes
- Lara's pregnancy

Should I go on?

This is a bit different from others in the series - even Singh says so in the preface - rather than focusing on a single couple we see each of the couples that have been in the previous novels and short stories and how they are going. There are a few plots going on too:

1) Naya, the half psy / half changling daughter of Lucas and Sascha is under threat from the shadowy Consortium.
2) A clue makes for a desperate search for one of the missing Black Sea changlings.
3) The psynet continues to rot from the inside out. Ivy and Sahara manage to work out why it is happening and even how to fix it - but implementing the solution will not be easy.
4) Xavier goes looking for Nina.
5) Mercy & Riley's pupcubs are born.
6) The brain implants the Human Alliance developed to keep the Psy out of their heads are starting to fail.

The overarching plotlines are what keep bringing me back to this series and I am so glad that even as this book closes several there are new ones being opened and the promise of this world gets more complicated with every book. It looks like in the next round of books human characters (who have largely been helpless bystanders) will start to play a greater role in the world.

I really liked this, it was nice to see all the characters again and see them developing. It was also a more cooperative book and we got to see more of the interactions outside of the romance. The romance we do see is more the steady slow burn of solid relationships than the all consuming new love, the characters are all very much in love (don't worry people!) but we get to see how that impacts the rest of their lives as they have grown together with their partner.

Allegiance of Honour also pushed the plot forward, without the main focus on one couple the whole world moves forward more (although the discussions and meetings did feel a bit endless).

It tied off a lot of loose ends, it doesn't feel like the end of the series but I could leave the characters now knowing how they'll manage down the road.

Now I know where Trinity came from and how we got from point A to Q.
