Great story

It was great catching up with el diablo..in the form of his son cruz. I enjoyed the story but it didn't captivate me it as well as el diablo did.

Full of angst and a real slow burn, reading El Diablo II was a gripping, eventful experience. Having loved the first book, I was scared that this book wouldn’t hit the mark, but it was totally different in a good way.

Whilst the sparks were certainly right there in the beginning for Sienna and Cruz, I loved that their relationship was turbulent. The storyline is action packed from start to finish as the mafia world invade this couple’s lives, causing misery and mayhem - it made it totally addictive to read.

Personally, I would have loved more from Cruz and Sienna in terms of their relationship as I felt it got a tad lost in all the events of the plot however, I’d still wholly recommend one-clicking. I also am incredibly excited to read the future spin-offs.

El Diablo II is the continued story of the Martinez family. I think it can be read as a standalone but you'll probably enjoy it more if you read the first one.

Crucifixio "Cruz" Martinez is the son of Alejandro "El Diablo" and Lexi (their romance is book 1). His most important job is to protect his family so when Cruz's sister gets kidnapped under his watch, he quickly learns what it means to be the son of the mafia's fearsome El Diablo. The only thing Cruz wants more than his sister's return is the mafia princess, Sienna Luciano. But she wants absolutely nothing to do with him. Can these two put aside their differences and find happiness in the dark mafia world?

I'm rating this one 3.5 stars. Here's why:

This very rarely happens to me but I did not like the heroine, Sienna. I know she was only 17 when we first met her but she got on my last nerve! She came off as a spoiled brat and I think Cruz even calls her that in the book. Her constant tantrums and tears really showcased her naivety. I also felt like her character was very stagnant, she didn't start to "evolve" until almost the very end which saved the story for me but was still a bummer!

I did like Cruz but I'm blushing as I say that I loved the original Devil, his father, more. Cruz was practically a carbon copy of Alejandro though maybe he had a bit more of a conscious, just a tad more compassion that was endearing. Unfortunately, my dislike for Sienna ultimately prevented me from really feeling a connection between the two until the book was almost finished.

Having said all that, if you enjoy dark, possessive heroes, I'd still recommend this series. Although Sienna and Cruz's romance is a slow burn, the story itself is fast paced and has twists and turns that'll leave you tingling with anticipation! Told from dual POVs with a happy for now ending. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

This is BEAUTIFUL!

Cruz is one beautifully damaged man. His story definitely kept me on the edge of my seat, anticipating what's going to happen and what's he going to do. He's just different, he wanted to be just like his dad but he doesn't know who he really was. And when things start to go south, he needed to make a decision that's best for his family. Even if it means he's becoming the devil.

I loved Sienna! I can't even describe her, she's just an amazing woman and perfect for Cruz. She's so determined, fierce, and stands up for herself. This just makes Cruz so drawn to her from the first time they meet. They make me want more of them, I'm obsessed!

Insanity!!! Mind blowingly intense!!! Perfection!!!!!
El Diablo II cut me to the very core of my being. I thought nothing could top El Diablo. That story was the big daddy of angst. The leader in romance with nothing held back. Boy was I stupid. Again I was swept away in the crazy good story that M. Robinson continues to spin. I was literally on the knifes edge from the start and could never quite catch my breathe before the next twist punch was delivered. I was totally enthralled with the leading characters and it was a true delight to revisit some old but brilliant characters. I dont know how, but these stories just get better and better. Each has their own uniqueness, but also intertwines with previous stories effortlessly. This story is one a reader can easily immerse themselves into and be blissfully unaware of anything but the master of storytelling and her magical words. 5 stars.

This book gave me so many emotions and i had no idea i could hate a character so much as i did with Cruz. His character was amazingly written and this book was nowhere near cliche.

The relationship built between him and Sienna was one of the best I've seen. It wasn't rushed it was beautifully written. The plot had me on the edge of my seat the whole time and i could not for the life of me put this book down.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to be part of the ARC team for this book it was great.

“I’ll kill for you. I’ll die for you. But don’t think for one fucking second that I’ll protect you…from me.”

El Diablo is one of my favorite books. I love Alejandro and Lexi so my expectations were many for this book and his son’s story.

Cruz loves his dad and wants nothing more than to be like his father even though he doesn’t have all details of who is his father. Sienna is the mafia princess, protected from the world and hates that life after losing her mother. She wants to leave all behind, but then she meets Cruz and that’s it. He wants her, he will have her.

Cruz is all softie. He’s an innocent soft-hearted guy until his sister is taken under his nose. He blames himself, his father blames him and Sienna hates him because he’s what she hates the most on a guy or at least she thinks he is. Yeah, she’s judgmental. Cruz later changes and turns into his father: El Diablo.

I enjoyed this book. It was a good read but not the best. Let me explain:

Adriana is taken and I thought the tension would be a lot. Turns out that her disappearance is put behind over Cruz and Sienna story. I was even starting to wonder: are they even doing anything to get her?

And then, when I thought Cruz and Sienna as couple was going to pick up, we are sent to the other part of plot: Adriana’s kidnapping. And we basically say bye to their time together.

You see, I wished it was all divided and blended equally.

I wished there was more of Cruz and Sienna. They spend most of the time apart and when they aren’t apart, they’re on each other’s throats. And trust me… they fight a lot. They can’t see each other without fighting, without Sienna being disrespectful to him. Give an award to Cruz for being so patient, please. Sienna sees him as the enemy which made me feel bad for Cruz because he was cruel but not to her. He was in the situation because he had to but he was willing to make it work while Sienna was willing to insult him and judge him based on... mafia’s lifestyle? She could never or try to see Cruz for what he was, his qualities.

And when the situation with Adriana finally ended, I thought they would finally have their time until I realized the book was ending.

So yeah, it’s hard to connect them as characters and as couple. We don’t see them growing in love towards each of other, we don’t see them build a relationship. They aren’t even friends in any point until they confess their love. While Cruz knows all about her , she knows nothing about him because she doesn’t try and suddenly she’s in love. There was a big piece missing to convince us they’re in love.

Is it a bad book? No. Will I reread it? Probably not. Was justice made for Diablo’s son? Yes and No. Yes because he’s Diablo and made justice to his fame and no because both main characters deserved more development.
