A bridge book if I ever read one. Lots of setting things up for the next in the series.

A little darker than the earlier books, and with more a sense of impending doom. Events take priority over characters, so I missed the conversational play, but it's definitely setting up something bigger.

I love the first three books of this series the best. This book sets up the calm before the rising storm. More than half of the novel is about meetings; meetings of the dragons, Rhapsody and Ashe, and the villians. The book becomes interesting at the very end. Then, Haydon leaves you hanging.

You're kidding, right? That's where you're going to end this book? Ugh
I probably would have enjoyed this book more if it hadn't taken me so long to read it and if the next book was out, but there isn't any information on the so called new trilogy.
Anyway, this wasn't the best book in this series but I enjoyed seeing all my favorite characters again.

I didn't read the previous six books, thinking that the start of a new trilogy would be easy enough to pick up, but it took about a hundred pages to figure out what was going on. (Why do so many characters have multiple versions of their names, and also have their names start with the same freaking letters?)

After I was sort of able to grasp who the hell everyone was and what was more or less going on, it was a fun enough story. The love bits between Rhaspody and Ashe were a complete drag, but luckily, they stopped being around each other about halfway through, which fixed that problem (mostly).

4.75 I really need a minute, I'm lamenting the fact that I no longer have access to new Elizabeth Haydon books. My only problem with this was the fact that there were many perspectives throughout the whole novel, some that only appeared once or twice and had little significance, and I wished they'd focused a bit more on Ashe and The Three. I love this series. Absolutely love it.

I loved the first two books in the series, then enjoyed each book less and less
I had hoped for more Achmed and Grunthor funtimes from this book but was left wanting
About 70% of this book was reminding the reader of what happened during the last 5 books…it just felt like this book was unfinished.
Ashe is the worst
I know there are three more books in this series but I’m calling it now. I can’t read three more books of Rhapsody and Ashe making smoochy eyes at each other.
I recommend the first three books of this series so much but I should have stopped after book 3

This set the scene for the next one. It explained more of the history behind the characters and races which I found interesting. It also gave some updates on other characters.
