Once again M. Sinclair has created another masterpiece!

This book was so unlike anything else I have read! It was such a unique twist on a shifter book that I was absolutely compelled from beginning to end. Effie made my heart all warm and fuzzy, she is just such a naturally kind person despite all of the things she has gone through. Her huge heart shines through in all she does.

Then their are her mates...protective, caring, and possessive Effie’s mates are just as much attracted and attached as Effie is to them. Their bond is instantaneous and strong. Despite Effie not knowing what to make of it at first and seeing it as to good to be true, her mates take it in totally stride.

I love the connections they have all built in such a short period of time. Effie brings a unique dynamic to this group. I am sitting at the edge of my seat waiting to see where this story goes. There are so many questions that that ending left and I genuinely cannot wait for more! I have grown super attached to these characters that more of their story can’t come soon enough!

This was so fun! I honestly was kind of surprised when it ended. It kind of felt like the story was just beginning, which I suppose it is.

I really love Effie. I like the guys too, and I’m intrigued by the small glimpses of backstory we’ve gotten from them. But like… I really love Effie.

We’ve all read the naive heroine. But something about Effie makes so charming, and that is her self-awareness. She is constantly calling herself out for not knowing obvious answers to things, and it just made me laugh every time. At one point, she asks herself if the men are somehow able to communicate telepathically, and then chides herself saying, No. they have phones, Effie. I don’t know why but I just found that so funny and charming.

I’m excited to see how the plot will develop, as we did not get much plot in this first installment. It was mostly character building and setting the scene. Still, I flew through this and enjoyed it immensely.

Epic cliffhanger

Great book! Just as I’m addictively trying to wrap my brain around this world and figure out what’s going on I’m left stuttering and trying to figure out where/when I find out what happens next. I need to know about Effie like I need to breathe!

I wanted a bit more action and it felt so short! Overall, it was a good start. The next one doesn’t come out for awhile so I’m a little sad about that....

I enjoyed this read. It is set in the same world as Wild Moon. It is part of a multiple author world called Kingdom of Wolves. I enjoy the world created and like that the books are all standalone, other than books that continue a series. The book is a short read and I can not wait to read the second book of this series, I want to know how everything plays out. It ends on a huge cliffhanger with so many unanswered questions.

No strong representation of diverse characters or minority identities.

Quick Thoughts: I really enjoyed Lost... I think M. Sinclair has the perfect recipe for unique reverse harem romance Heroes will maintaining their shared protective and possessiveness over the Heroine.

Why not 5-stars? The info-dumping — setting up the world, character background, the importance of the university, etc. — went on and on and on. There were honestly pages that I skimmed because of the info-dumping. Perhaps worse, more than 3/4 of the information could’ve been integrated into the dialogue or the plot. It’s a clue when a character says something in dialogue (not monologue) to another character which sets off *pages* of an explanation and then that same character “gets back on track” and is all, “As I said before...” 🙈. If you’re saying “as I said before” it’s too soon to be repeating that information! Readers actually do retain information, especially if it concerns world-building.

Safety Rating: Safe
