The beginning of a solid teratology by RA Salvatore. I read the four books as one.
From the wedding of Catti-Brie to Wulfgar. The first appearance of Bregan D'aerthe who is enlisted to capture Drizzt for his sister. The comeback of Entreri and the view of Time of Troubles and how it changed Drow society.
Nice adition.

Was going to take a break after book 6/the end of The Icewindale Trilogy but I was glad I pressed on.
When I was starting to get stalled out on the after the OG trilogy this pulled be back in.
Seeing the characters from the first two trilogies come together and clash was really satisfying. I loved the role Regis occupied for the first half, and everything after that felt like it had a nice exciting pace to it. Still feeling like I need a break to check out some other fiction but will be excited to jump back in. Might be up there with my favorites in the series after Homeland and Exile.

My least favorite of the Drizzt books so far. The fight scenes with Entering went on so so long for no reason, just rehashing all of the same stuff from the previous book. We don’t need that many pages on one fight. I was also bummed by Vierna’s arc— she had shown herself to be merciful before and now it’s gone for no reason?? Similarly Wulfgar’s crazy character arcs were so strange. This book just felt less thought out and interesting.
