I don't know what it was here, but something was off. I thought there was a lot of repetition, a lot of characters repeating themselves, or characters dwelling on the same exact things over and over again. A lot of variations on "no wonder they get along so well", and a lot of "how do I tell my ex I'm with a man now." And for Riptide to have touted themselves as a publisher who put editing at the top of the list, both books in this series had several little editing issues- wrong words or misspellings. I expect better for the price.

It was nice though, to read a book where the focus isn't all about the buttsex. Especially coming from LA Witt, there weren't a lot of sex scenes, probably because with Travis' limitations, there's only so many ways you can write a blow job or a hand job. I only kind of missed it, lol!

I was also glad to see that there wasn't a big work issue that caused their relationship to be forbidden. Their only obstacles were themselves, and other than one stupid freakout near the end, they weren't too bad.

These dudes have a lot of issues between them. And I can totally see how that would get frustrating and a lesser person might bail. But the whole issue was the same as always...Travis was bailing first to avoid getting hurt, but it didn't make a difference. It still hurts even if you are the one doing the leaving. Lot of emotional angst going on in this book. But it was enjoyable.

Another great read in this series. The instant chemistry between Travis and Clint was heartwarming and unbelievably sexy. To deal with pain, whether true physical pain or the pain from PTSD and still find your soulmate was an important part of these two men coming together when the pressure of family and the Navy surround them. It was great to read about the other characters from earlier books getting ready for their wedding. Happiness conquers all in the end. A fabulous read. I hope to read more in the series.

A bit heavy on the family drama for my tastes, with a surprisingly quick jump into the sex, but well-written (like all of Witt's stuff), with two hot, intriguing, middle-aged men.

This was a pretty good book. I love that this is a MM romance story. I love that Clint works with Travis slowly and they get past all the fear and trauma they've both experienced. Its terrible what they both had to go through but amazing that they were able to get through it and still work a job. I loved that it focused on what people do go through and how it shows that everyone can get through whatever life throws our way. Great story.

Better Than Book 1

This was a much better read than the first book. Unlike with Sean and Paul, it was obvious Travis and Clint’s attraction extended outside of the bedroom. I could see them fall in love with each other and not hide in parked cars or hotel rooms. Reading how Travis and Clint leaned on each other was a beautiful thing.

Oh. How I wanted to love this book.

It started out in that direction and then in the last 10-15%, i became displeased with the direction of the storyline and the actions of some of the characters.

Not really spoilers - but read on at your own risk.

✔️OMG enough with Dion. He was the fourth in their relationship. Note to L.A. - maybe you should have made Dion and Travis's story book #2 in this series. The more Dion was brought up, the more I was annoyed.
✔️If I were Paul, I would have knocked Travis on his ass there towards the end. Just sayin'.
✔️I totally did not buy the ex-wife's change in tune. Also not pleased she was making major life decisions for the kids and keeping that from Clint.
✔️Kimber - not even sure why you had her in the book.

So even though I wasn't over the top in love with this book, I anxiously await book 3.

I liked the inclusion of the trauma discussions in this one but it fell a little flat for me.

Reread - yep. Liked it but it needed more.
