Well If some things bothered me in the first book, it was nothing compared to this one.

It feels like the plot doesnt make sense at times, just like the characters.

But what is worse is how Nora, the main character, got on my nerves the whole book. Not to be rude but she was so stupid and didn't know what she wanted. Crying about wanting Patch when she was the one that did everything to push him away (though Patch isnt innocent either) but when he comes to her to make things better, she rejects him. And it happens several times in the book.

I read it fast but not for a good reason. I skipped a lot of parapraphs and just wanted it to be over.

A cliffhanger? a cliffhanger?! A CLIFFHANGER!?!?!?! YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME

This book had so much potential, and I thought I was going to get it, but alas here is another book I am left with more questions than answers. I cannot understand half of what Becca Fitzpatrick is wanting the reader to come away with.

Examples:
1. Nora being jealous of Marcie. Why does Nora's character become exceedingly degrading to women? I cannot understand why she doesn't trust Patch. He's your guardian angel for goodness sakes! Not some lowly teenager who cannot distinguish real responsibilities from petty emotions.
2. Why is Patch becoming more annoying? His bad boy demeanor took a turn for the dull in Crescendo. Absolutely no witty comebacks, questionable motives, and the downright dull romance made me very annoyed with his character.
3. I am still confused why Nora's dad was said to be a bad guy, then a possessed guy, then he provided trusting guidance to Nora in the fun house, then I was left thinking Rixon was using him as a mirage. Which one is it Ms. Fitzpatrick?
4. Marcie's dad being Nora's dad was a weak storyline. It had a lot of potential for an interesting plot line, but the dull writing again churned out nothing of interest until the ending.

I am very disappointed with this book. Especially when I see the potential in it. I don't know if I'll be picking up the next book in the series. I have been let down too many times.

On par with the first book. It has more cheesy-ness and cringe high school feelings.

It was fairly good though, with interesting twists and information added in. Her best friend character is funny and that was helpful to the read.

Second books in series can never catch a break. This one definitely reminded me of New Moon in that we have a "breakup", flirting with danger and other boys (who just happen to be a different species) to make the ex jealous, and the frankly horrifying amount of miscommunication or lack thereof.

I mean seriously, if everyone sat down and talked with each other in clear and succinct language, I feel like ninety percent of Nora's problems wouldn't exist. I get that she's only sixteen and not emotionally mature yet, but holy cow, the things she does to "get back" at Patch over something she thought was true but wasn't border on the criminal. She stole a car, vandalized the library (arguably not her fault, but still), and broke into a house! And she's was worried about Patch having a rap sheet in the first book?

Anyway, I think this book was definitely trying for the gritty, post-breakup angst and drama, but instead fell pretty flat. Nora made a bunch of questionable decisions, none of them beneficial to anyone, and all of them ending in more trouble than they were worth. (Bella, anyone?)

Bastante interesante, el misterio sobre la vida de Nora y su linaje de sangre continua, pero a pesar de todo no hay ningún momento dentro de la historia que fuera realmente sorprendente o inesperado para mi.

4.5/5⭐️ So So SO much better than the first book. I wasn’t expecting to actually enjoy this book or be so invested. This was one of the first books i’ve read all in one day. Such fast paced and addictive writing. I’m surprising myself by saying this got this high a rating because of the plot and not at all due to the romance. Because actually I couldn’t STAND Patch and all the back and forth. The shit he put Nora through, MY GOD. She’s stronger than me because I honestly would’ve thrown hands to everyone and just had constant mental breakdowns.
One thing I can’t stand about this book is that you have a curvy character that’s established as say pretty and has a love life. But is constantly being made fun of and never stands up for herself. And her character only talks about food or losing weight or some thing about weight. It’s so weird and so annoying and tiring to see representation but it’s not real representation when the character is such a stereotypical characters. And the way her best friend, her BEST FRIEND thought about her?! Disgusting, Ridiculous. Even if I didn’t like her in the first book I still don’t think it’s right.
There was a huge plot twist here at the end, which was crazy honestly really well done cause it was not expected at all. Also i’m still so mad at Patch, he’s gonna have to do something big cause I really hate him and Nora deserves so much better.

Nora is so awful in this book!!! I liked finding out more about the father mystery.

~2.5 stars out of 5~

Nora was very annoying in this one. Good god she kept getting jealous and whining about it. You have to have guts to whine THAT much, I was kind of surprised with the stuff she pulled, but love makes you do stupid stuff right? Put annoying-ness aside, it was alright, Patch was pretty shady though. And I'm starting to notice a trend here: this series abruptly ends. Like no joke...it just stops...and picks up in the next book a couple days later. I guess it's supposed to be a dramatic cliffhanger, which is cool, and it actually made me want to continue...but that's not a great ending. It falls flat, no closure.

Seriously.. that ending? Killing me for ending it that way!!! Can't wait for the next one!
