Back to the Book Club Bromance we go and in time for Christmas!

Colton is next in line, the famous country musician has been suffering from a writer's block for some time now, his new songs aren't what his record company expects and he has one month to decide his next step.

Gretchen and Colton spend one night together and even though they share the same group of friends they haven't seen each other since.

When Gretchen's family is making her contact Colton for a bussiness proposition he counters it by asking for a date, he makes it his mission to make her love Christmas as much as he does.

But of course one date isn't enough and the bussiness of it is lost between kisses and shared time with each moment they spend together.

This is a grumpy heroine, sunshine hero Christmas romance and it was spectacular. There is pining, so much delicious pining and the romance will make you go all heart eyes you guys!

There is some family drama that has do with with her family. Which was one more thing that brought them closer.

Colton was a sweetheart, he even brings her a Christmas romance to read, because the manuals are always part of the bromance book club. He was just so swoon worthy in everything he did in regards to Gretchen.

The book club boys and their significant others make more than one appearance as always, you got to love a close friend group who are essentially a found family, and I certainly do.

This was fun, romantic and wonderful all around.

* I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

i really enjoyed the previous books in this serie, but nothing could have prepared me for how much i would LOVE a very merry bromance!!

to be honest, i did not remember who anyone was besides vlad (but how could anyone forget about him??), and i did not remember about the previous storylines either besides a few details here and there lmao. anyway, the two MCs were relatable and lovable, the plot was interesting, and the pacing was great. everything went to the perfect speed, there is no scene that feels wasted (the part were the men are wrapping presents should be part of the mandatory readings for any future boyfriend of mine) and it was truly everything i needed. it's my favorite read of december, thank you so much!!

i also enjoyed how meta the book was getting (which i think is something that they were already doing in the previous novels if i remember correctly) with the sunshine/grumpy romance and the other discussions on tropes... it was super funny to me and it kind of makes me want to find the tropes that i encounter IRL now ahah...

i was scared about the third-act break-up because i didn't know what could go wrong especially when they had both been upfront about why they stayed talking again. the only thing i have to say is fuck her family, fuck evan. i, too, was hoping jack would reveal that he is her father because her parents really suck.

furthermore, the whole friends becoming family is cliché, yet it still got me. i was happy to see théa again because i remember feeling disappointed that she and gavin were not featured as much in the other books. vlad remains my favorite character.

i have nothing negative to say about this book, the only disappointment is that lyssa key adams has not published anything since then and it's a CRIME. i need more books like these!!

What a fun book for the holidays. I have really liked Colton in the previous stories in this series as a side character. He has been wonderful, so I couldn't wait to see what Lyssa Kay Adams came up with for his story. Gretchen was briefly a part of another Bromance book, dumping Mac but other than that we didn't know much about her.

Colton and Gretchen spent a beautiful night together after on of the couples weddings. Colton thought everything went fantastically and couldn't wait to spend more time with Gretchen getting to know her. So he was extremely disappointed when she start picking up all of her stuff to leave. Colton is used to women throwing themselves at him not trying to lock one down into a date. It will be about a year later before these two have a reason to be in each other's lives again.

Gretchen comes from a family of rich and horrible people. They are the long time owners for a Whiskey empire now run mostly by Gretchen's brother. He wants her to use her friendship connections to convince Colton to be the new face of one of their brands. Her brother has even dangled the one thing Gretchen craves, a spot on the charity board, to entice her. She has spent so long avoiding Colton, but for this she will risk seeing the man she ran away from.

Colton has lost his groove. His songs are suffering, he hasn't really dated since that botched morning after with Gretchen and he is in a really strange spot in his life. The last thing he really wants to do is to be the "Face" for a whiskey brand, but if he can spend some time with Gretchen and make it past some of her defenses it will be worth it. Step one, go on a few dates, business outings, with Gretchen and discuss the offer. Step two, try to get her into the holiday spirit since she seems like a bit of a scrooge and Step three, hold on tight when she runs, because that is what she does.
“No one hates Christmas. They hate their own Christmases.”

I liked Gretchen overall. It is clear she is so broken, lonely and closed off so she won't get hurt. Colton is all love and happiness just trying to find that perfect someone to share a life with. It is hard not to love a character full of sunshine and protectiveness. As we learn more about both their pasts it is easy to see why they are really perfect for each other. Gretchen has never had someone really stand strong and take her side before Colton. Colton on the other hand needs someone who understands what it is like to have a singular focus when inspiration hits and he gets lost in his music. They both will need to deal with their pasts to have any kind of future.
“That your journey ain’t complete until you’re willing to stare into the glare of your own past.”

This was a cute story. There was a little too much emphasis on possibly on some of the aspects of Gretchen's job trying to help those that came into the country illegally not get deported. Look I'm all for not breaking up families but also I'm for coming into the United States legally. Still she was passionate about what she was doing and it made her a more likable person under all the spikiness she gives off to those around her.

Overall a few cute and happy little Christmas story.

I have a habit of grabbing a random book assuming it is a standalone and finding out is a series after I read other people’s reviews when posting my own, which is why I am now reviewing the most recent addition to the Bromance Book Club series. For being the last book in the publishing order (for now) A Very Merry Bromance is a good introduction to the Tennessee based romance novels centering a group of guys who want to better their love lives through their all-male romance book club. A year after country music star Colton Wheeler, a family loving Christmas connoisseur in a musical slump, and Gretchen Winthrop, a secret Whiskey heiress turned immigration lawyer struggling to help her growing group of client’s stay in the country, had the most amazing night together at their mutual friend’s wedding (which ended in Gretchen ghosting Colton), they are drawn together when Gretchen’s brother wants a new face for their company and asks her to get in touch with Colton to seal the deal before the holidays. Colton agrees to look over the proposal, in exchange for a few dates before Christmas.
The antagonist of the story is Gretchen’s brother Evan, with a little bit of back up from her image -obsessed parents. It is repeatedly alluded to that Gretchen’s brother physically and mentally abused her as a child, but it felt like their story lacked follow through. I do not advocate for, nor enjoy, the abuse of characters in books, but in this case I felt that the lack of information became minimizing to that aspect of her story; it felt it boiled down to no more than a broken arm and being locked out of the house. It’s also shown that Evan is a heavy drinker, and not much comes of that either.
While Gretchen’s mother spends much of the book teetering on the edge of redeeming herself by laying Evan out, a few moments where it feels like she is about to step in build to nothing when she doesn’t intervene. I also couldn’t understand exactly why Gretchen was so angry with Jack at the end of it all - her uncle who always came to rescue her was suddenly a villain in her eyes.
I loved Colton’s family, both biological and chosen, and I can’t wait to dig into the books about the other guys just to see their stories. I have been in Gretchen’s shoes when stepping into a tight knit friend group and the anxiety that comes with being a “girlfriend” to one of the guys but not feeling like a part of things, and I hope that in future books (if we get more) we will see her grow into her role in the friend group. Colton’s character embodies the sunshine trope: he loves children, loves family, and loves Gretchen for all her sides. Gretchen is the perfect kind of grumpy, she isn’t mean for the sake of being mean but instead is an extremely morals-centered person and just wants the world to be a better place for the less fortunate after seeing how the uber-rich live and behave her whole life growing up. I was nervous early on that Gretchen would give up her practice to usurp Evan, but she was consistent in her intentions to keep at her work no matter what.
I think the third-act break up came too late in the book, I’d like to have seen more of their relationship after getting back together, and to have a little more time taken for the plot for saving Colton/taking down Evan.
There were a few spicy scenes in the book, but most of it was kissing. There is never a lot of sex in Christmas romances, but in the scenes we get Colton is a “season of giving” kind of guy. The only issue was the phrase “womb clench” which is, by definition, what period cramps/contractions are.

Wow, another great outing in the Bromance Book Club. This time with our favorite country singer. It was a lot of crazy family situations. I do hope one day, the author will do a story with the "Cheese Guy" Roman- that will be so interesting of a story.
