MY ROTTEN LOVE LIFE was a fairly simplistic post-apocalyptic romance featuring a small group of survivors a few years after a zombie outbreak. I liked Tori as our FMC, she's tough, brave, and fairly introspective and I was happy to see her find love with each of her guys, Micah, Nathan, and Calix. The relationship is definitely a case of insta-lust and insta-love and for the most part I didn't mind it except in the case of Calix. Within 3 days of knowing each other Calix, who is germaphobic, is going on about wanting to touch Tori and they even have sex even though Calix will barely tolerate touch from Micah and Nathan who he's been living with for a year. He's been germaphobic since he was a child and he's suddenly getting over that? It just didn't feel natural.

This had its strong points but it also had some plot holes, some survival facts that didn't seem quite right, and a few parts were a bit over-wrought. There was also a character that dies at the end for no apparent reason other than the shock value and it just felt unnecessary.

Content Warning: past hysterectomy; on page animal death; germaphobic MC; references to suicide; slut shaming from a side character; death and gore

It's very inconvenient to find out something when the world is ending. Now you have both ex following you to safely when you want them to just go away. Too bad there is safety in numbers. How else would you survive a zombie apocalypse. Their are some men nice enough to let them know about the hoard coming while running for their lives to get back to the safety of their community. They get an offer to come but they have to move fast. One zombie is easier to handle than thousands migrating to find fresh meat to bite on. It's a good thing that she can open her heart and love again ×3?

I absolutely loved this book, I’ve already read this book twice. Lyra hit another home run with this book. I would rate the spice factor a 3.5/5 and the book itself a 5/5. It is a smaller RH with 3 male love interests. Tori found out her boyfriend was cheating on her with her best friend. Tori walks out to literally the end of the world. She’s forced to be around her ex boyfriend and ex best friend who unknowingly push Tori into the arms of the 3 men. This book focuses more on their love story more than the zombies so people who aren’t huge fans of zombies can still enjoy the book. The only thing I would change is the length of the book, I just wish it was longer because I couldn’t get enough of it.

Rotten Love Life!

I’ve been a zombie apocalypse binge lately and this book did not disappoint. I love the play on words of the title.

This was my first apocalypse-romance-smut book, and I loved it and want more like it. My only problem was that there was too much talking to or talking about her ex-boyfriend and ex-best friend. They took up 1/3 of the book, and it was close to being annoying. If I remember correctly, the first 100 pages are pretty much just of them talking or being talked about. I still love the book and suggest you read it.

This is such an amazing read. I was sucked into the post-apocalyptic world filled with ex lovers and friends and potential new lovers.

The main female character, Tori has been through tough trauma, but her family and love interests help her through it. I absolutely love her sister Spencer she is a spit fire, and I absolutely love her no BS attitude and that she defends her sister with no care. Absolutely hated Daisy and Jay from the first couple of paragraphs.

There are some gore filled moments, as well as funny and sexy and sad moments. I wouldn't change a thing. Well, actually, maybe one thing that happened when they first left the ranch on the way to Oasis. Other than that, I completely agree with how things went down. Karma can be a real beacccch, but being true and honest, well, that gets you farther.

I highly recommend you to read this book, as well as all of Lyra's other books. I've read them all, and they are equally amazing.

Disappointing

I love zombie apocalypse stories to the point that I'll tolerate almost any amount of bad writing for them, but this barely had zombies for most of the book. Their world was already set up, and there was ZERO tension when the leads got together by 35%. Just disappointing.
