This was a bit tough to get through for me! The first third of the book was extremely slow and drawn out, making it hard to get through. However, it does have a somewhat compelling mystery, making me want to I turn to the end to find out what happened and DNF it. It picked up around 40% through, and it read a lot quicker through to the end. I thought it was going to end predictably, but there were a few elements I didn’t see coming! Definitely a satisfying conclusion, albeit a smidge predictable.

Not much I can say about this other than it was an exceptional read. The synopsis was enough to draw me in completely, but the plot itself once I started kept me thoroughly invested throughout.

There are a lot of thrillers that don’t feel like the ending is earned, or that the mystery was solved in a compelling way, but The Only One Left is not one of those mysteries. When certain revelations later in the plot happened, the groundwork had been laid out so cleverly early on. Everything felt earned. Everything felt relevant, even if it wasn’t obvious to start with. Even towards the end, with four pages left, I still found myself exclaiming a WTF at more revelations, as minor as the may be. They just helped to make the world feel real and lived in and connected.

I don’t want to say anymore as I don’t want to give anything away, but it is definitely worth the read!!

This was such a tragic story… An amazing thriller with fantastic plot twists. I was completely invested and adamant on figuring out what was going on. So good!

Sager got me good with this one; I didn't see ANY of the twists coming.  As someone who works in the medical field, sometimes you have to treat someone who may or may not be a good person.   And how we have to put our believes at the door to do our job.  It also brings on the impressionablitiy of people in a small town into light.  The ending was absolutely perfect though, and I couldn't have been happier.
