I really was hoping to love this story. A bodyguard and his client….heck yes! But I finished this book feeling very…..disappointed
Diablo was a too fucking much to take in. He was bratty but in a toddler having a tantrum sense. I’m not even kidding. I don’t even think a toddler goes to the extremes that Diablo went. Throwing and breaking dishing? Dropping food on the floor and walking past it? Kicking and hitting people unprovoked? Slashing pillows because someone forget to say goodbye? Like we get it..Diablo is a brat but this was wayyyyyyy too over the fucking top. I wanted somebody to just whoop his fucking ass one good time. I wasn’t able to connect with his character at all. He was underdeveloped. We still didn’t get a true sense of who he really is outside of being a goddamn menace. No growth in his character. He was extremely unlikable.
Skylar was decent. I felt his character was very…..safe, kind of lackluster. Fuck it! He was dry as hell and boring

Oooh I love this book. Definitely another awesome dynamic between them. I feel like you have to understand BDSM to properly "get" this book. Most of the character growth is around accepting these needs. The book almost implies that childhood trauma is the cause of Diablo's desires, which is probably the most problematic part of the book.
The book is still very much in the area of "this is so ridiculous that the toxicity is playful rather than problematic" which Rose is known for.
As usual, the absolute acceptance of everything by the supporting cast, is awesome. There's no homophobia or needless drama. Really good read.

I forgot how much I love Diablo and his brattitude so it was so good to listen to it . Skylar is the only one who could have tamed Diablo and it was great watching him bring him to his knees as usual was great hearing from previous characters in the series .
Relisten 7th September 2024
Still one of my favourites of the series gotta love Diablo and his brattitude.

This one just didn’t do it for me. It’s not about eh brat acting out, because I did like Nordika Night’s Little Demon in the Details, but the rest of the story just wasn’t believable enough for me to feel invested. Plus, Casey was just plain weird.

Ahh... Diablo... I loved him. He was the brat of all brats, lol. His brattiness was off the charts. My heart definitely hurt for him and I'm so glad he had Skylar. Can't wait for next book!
