I much as I loved this series, the series drops off big time after god emperor. Heretics had something’s that I enjoyed and was interested in exploring more. However, with the way the book ended a lot of those things aren’t either able to be expanded on or they are just forgotten all together. I am not interested in the characters and after getting this far I have watched some reviews that are just reinforcing that I don’t want to continue readying this book. Maybe in a couple of years when I re-read the series I’ll finally finish this last one but for now I’m ready to move on to something new.

Incredible slow and hard to push through at times as even the chapters are quite long. Pausing inbetween, especially for a few days, is a death sentence. Even compared to other Dune book, there is a lot of talking with little plot. The pace is accelerating towards the end, but the first 4/5 of the book are just very tedious to get through.

I think I hyped this one up too much by waiting so long. It dragged hard for most of the middle, but it was decent nonetheless. Maybe my second least favorite of the six. I just might check out his son’s continuation someday…

I'm very glad to have made it to the last Frank Herbert wrote. I've loved Hebert's writing in all of the books.

This book ends on a cliffhanger. The series was not finished by him, which is pretty disappointing.

I'm kind of in the middle. It's not a bad book. I mostly enjoyed it, and there are some good quotes.

*****Warning spoiler ahead****

But also a very uncomfortable scene with young Miles Teg being raped. I was pretty stunned when I came to this part. Pretty dark stuff.

Just wild.

Although, I'm not completely satisfied to stop here, I'm not convinced to read Brian Hebert's version of the end to this series......
