“People often share anecdotes with me. I know you will appreciate this, they say. Indeed, I can be counted on to validate the remarkableness of their tales, bringing my hands to my cheeks and exclaiming in all the right places”
I finished this book knowing I am going to come back to it again and again.
Listening to it in audiobook form may have been a bit confusing at fist but such an engaging and intimate experience at the same time. This is the kind of book that you are laughing one page and then crying at the end of the same one.
Krouse’s storytelling is compelling and quirky, it truly feels like she is right there talking to you.
This not-quite-a-memoir really is a reflection on aspects of life and I am sure that no matter how many times I read ir it will resonate with different parts of what life is throwing at me at the moment.
It is unfortunate to know the author passed away a few months after the book was published, but it is nice to see her live on through her books, and also (and you will get it if you read this) through her texts that I now have on my phone.

This might possibly be the most unique book I've ever read. It is a quick read that is more an interactive collection of observations than memoir. It is delightful in parts and heartbreaking in others, knowing that the author passed away not long after this was published. Parts of the book felt prescient.
I'm glad I read this. It gave me room to reflect on my own life (and made me laugh in parts).

Wow. This book... Was like nothing else I've read. Though not as interactive as was once intended, I felt like reading this book and the accompanying website made me part of something so much larger than myself. I laughed. I cried. It's so strange to say that about a book that seems at first glance like it's mostly white space on pages. Just wow.

I was smiling one page and crying the next. Rosenthal took a unique approach to nonfiction writing here, and it could have ended up being gimmicky, but instead it was a touching example of human interaction and its importance.

This book was weird and wonderful. Very readable and made me consider how we all interact with the world. It’ll stay with me a long time i think.
I think the descriptor of self help is not quite right, except for the fact that reading this book did make me happier.
